Nope - My bad - I just went and got it again and sure enough, it's 1.35. I could have sworn...

OK, I'm off to give it a try. Thanks!

Regards to your error above, it appears that GOOGLE_SITEMAP_XML_FS_DIRECTORY is undefined. Are you certain you uploaded all files from the 1.3.4 version release and overwrote all files from any previous version(s)?

As suggested above install the new 1.3.5 and run installer. Before installing you will want to decide where you install your XML files, in your webroot (opublic_html) or shop root.

And then after installing double check admin setting for "Use root directory" in Configuration > Google XML Sitemap

I hate to be thick but when you say "run the installer" what exactly does that mean?

Also, concerning the prior error message, if I've changed my admin file name for security purposes does this mod have to be changed to reflect that?

I've installed this module and it's generating the sitemaps properly, but I seem to be having problems with the cron job.. first off, Hosting's at Dotster (ugh), so having no success with the cron job at Dotster, I went to webcron.org and set up a cron there. Ohter crons I have there are working, but the one for /store/googlesitemap.php?ping=yes is not. I get this error whenI generate the sitemaps:
Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of fsockopen(). ZC version is 1.3.5 -- I'm using the latest download (with the installer), I've installed and uninstalled this a few times over the past few days and have tried more than one download package -- still getting this same error. Anyone know what's causing it? Thanks.

    Meltdown:

The installer is web based sql patcher = install_googlesitemap.php
(new file and only change to version 1.3.5)

Just access that file via your web browser: e.g.
    http://www.yourdomain.com/yourshop/a...glesitemap.php

On second thought... it may be easiest for you to install update_1_3_4.sql, by copying SQL code from that file (using a text editor) and paste into form in your shops admin at Tools > Install SQL patches (copy & paste, don't upload).

Beautiful! The installer worked like a charm - No errors and fully recognized and accepted by Google.

    Woody, thanks for your help!
Andrew, thanks for another great mod!

No need to configure the mod with your renamed directory

Just be sure to upload the files/directories in the mods admin directory to your renamed admin directory.

And if you run the web-based installer a.k.a. SQL patcher provided in v.1.35 (see example URL in my previous post) be sure to change admin to your renamed admin directory.

To clarify, there are no differences between 1.34 and 1.35, besides the new patcher file. When running the patcher you will not see 1.35 listed as an upgrade option as there were no SQL changes between v.1.34 and 1.35.

If you have 1.34 installed there is no need to upgrade to 1.35, unless you are having problems patching your database. If so you can try patching with the web based patcher that comes with v.1.35

    Clear as mud now?

    One additional clarification.

With the 1.34 and 1.35 versions you are now provided the flexibility where you want to write your XML files, compared to previous versions of the mod (e.g. to your shop root directory, to your web root or to any other directory).

But the added flexibility can be a bit confusing...

If you want your XML files to live in your shop (catalog) directory, you don't have to do anything besides upload the XML files to your shop directory. Google Sitemap Admin will then write to that directory (DIR_FS_CATALOG = catalog directory = root of your shop).

If you want to write to your webroot directory (e.g. /public_html) you will now, when using v.1.34/1.35, need to manually enter that path info in
    Configuration > Google XML Sitemap

    For example:
    XML directory: /home/your_account/public_html/

(or whatever is the path to your home directory... if not sure you can find this info in your shops configure.php file).

NOTE: The slash at end of public_html is important!

Or as previously stated you can write the XML files to anywhere else on your file system. The main point of this added flexibility is you can now write these "writable" XML files to a directory outside of your web space (e.g. /home/your_account/). A major security advantage!

    Hope this helps.

    And thanks again Andrew!
