    Default Moving the Search box

    Is it possible to move the Search box from the right column to the left column, on the index page? And then have no columns on the right?

    Thanks. I look forward to any help.

    you can change the position of any of the sideboxes in admin/layout box controller. click on the box you want to edit in the list and then click edit. you change which side its on or your can shut off the boxes.
    hope that helps

    All of the Sideboxes can be configured for their column as well as for the sort order in the Tools ... Layout Boxes Controller ...

    Then, you can turn off the Right Column on the Global setting in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

    Ajeh or whom ever may know the answer, I know this is an old post. Perhaps you can answer a question that pertains to it. I copied
    <?php require(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'sideboxes/search_header.php'); ?>
    from the tpl_cataegories.php page and pasted it into my tpl_header.php because I wanted to have the search function in a different area of my site rather than the right or left sideboxes.

    My issue is, I want to keep my right global column on but when i do, the search shows up there also. what code do i place in my tpl_header so i can keep the search box there aqnd keep my right column on without showing the search box in the right column.

    Thanks,
    Slabadoo

    This sounds like what you wanted to do was turn on search_header.php in Admin/Tools/Layout boxes controller.

    I did this but it shows up in the right hand column. My goal is to move the search function into my header. I can do that but from my last post, I don't think the call i am using is correct. I tworks but shows up in both the right column and in the header. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    In Layout boxes controller, search_header.php should have Left/Right column status set to off and Single column status set to on.

    And make sure you have search.php set to off for both Left/Right column status and Single column status.
