Simple Zen Template - Support Thread

Hi! I wanted to put tiny icons next to my sidebox headings: cart etc...I have done this my adding this to the english file:

  define('BOX_HEADING_SHOPPING_CART', ' Shopping Cart <img src="images/logos/cart.gif" alt="Cart" />'); 

is there a better way?

I've done stuff like that plenty of times. If it works, it works! Now, you can also do stuff like this with css, if you wanted to add a background image to sidebox headings and adjust it there. But that is a fine way to do it.

I was easily able to change number products listed per page...but could not even locate the first instruction you gave in the admin at all...

"then change "Product Listing - Layout Style" to columns."

I went to config and product listing but there was nothing about layout style that I could find...?

Have you tried this in your admin:

"Configuration", then "Product Listing", then change "Product Listing - Layout Style" to columns.

You can limit how many products are shown in the product listing under "configuration", "maximum values".

What version of zen cart are you using?

It won't be in the simple_zen folder, because it hasn't been included in my template, but if you go to includes/templates/template_default/templates/ it will be there. Move it to the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates folder, make the changes, then upload it.

Since simple_zen does not have a temlate folder should I create one" I ask because mods that I have been looking at point to includes/template/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates folder. In my installation of simple_zen I just have "includes/templates/simple_zen/" which houses 'buttons', 'common', 'css' and 'images' folders - no template folder. The tpl_*.php files are all in the root of the simple_zen directory. This is confusing for me since google checkout points me to the template directory in the simple_zen folder.

Yes, create a Templates folder in your simple_zen template folder. Then save any tpl files that you modify from the default_templates>templates into this new folder. Then simple_zen will use those instead of the ones in the default_templates for the ones that you modify.

Well, then it should be there.

Try looking again... Under "Configuration", then choose "Product Listing", then down toward the bottom, there is a "Product Listing - Layout Style". It should be set to "rows" right now, you need to change it to "columns".

sorry i'm refering to the 3 links in the header with the cart, contact us and my account bottons in firefox it's perfect in EI the pictures don't line up right at all with the links
