If you look at the rule you've created in the Protx admin, does it have a green tick below the CVV header, and red crosses for the other sections?

The CVV code isn't checked for validity in test mode, only in live mode. For a full test of the system you will have to actually charge your card and then VOID it in the VSP admin.

The reasoning behind this behaviour is quite obvious in retrospect (got me at first too though! ;) )... if you could check CVV codes in test mode then you could carry out a brute force attack on a card very easily indeed. By forcing the use of live mode every transaction is recorded by the bank and fully traceable.

Hi,

Protx have just sent through their latest newsletter with information about their new emphasis on 3D secure (especially for Maestro cards), the Switch changeover in June and the move from Preauth to Authorise/Authenticate.

I'm in contact with protx about how best to upgrade the Protx Direct module to cope with these changes.

I just wanted you to know that we are aware of the upgrades and that a future version of this module will fully support Authorise/Authenticate and 3D Secure (so no need to put in any requests for these features.. won't say no to any donations to aid their development though ;) ).

Sorry Conor I've been a bit lax in replying to this but your mod and the support you offer is appreciated. My latest donation is on the way.

I hope everybody who is looking forward to the next release has thanked Conor. Even if everyone who is using this mod sent a £5 or £10 token gesture it would help as there must be a fair few of us now.

Thanks very much for the support, it is greatly appreciated! I'll put your donation in a kitty towards the upgrade of the module to support the new protocols when they are released.

As you say, many have downloaded this module but it is a rare few that have donated.

On another note...

We still haven't got our account upgraded to 3D secure (the "Partner Manager" is away until next week apparently). Has anyone here had their account upgraded yet?

I wouldn't say that, this is an open source project and we're happy to contribute to the community. I would hope though that everyone who uses Zen Cart contributes to the community in some way (helping people out on the forums is a great contribution IMO).. unfortunately you do come across some who are just "take, take, take"... they get all the software, plenty of e-mails giving them support and never give anything back... that's what I'd call rude.

Anyway... not really a discussion for this thread... back on topic... Just got this e-mail from protx 15 mins ago:

"Thank you for your interest in our new Authorize and Authenticate system due for release in March 2007, we will ensure to provide you with information on what you will need to do in order to implement this at the earliest possible juncture"

Think they're getting sick of me asking when I can get my hands on the code for the new protocols!

Protx Support often ask me to change the URLs that the server is pointing to, like this:

Please make sure your server is pointing to our live server.

Your server should be pointing to the below link:

https://ukvps.protx.com/vpsDirectAut...entGateway.asp

I read through the documentation and I don't see anything about changing the address, and I don't see a place in the admin to do this. Does anyone know if this is possible to do? I just need to have something to tell Protx support :)

If you 'edit' the Protx mod in your shop admin, there's three radio buttons that sets the transaction mode:

Live
Test
VSP Simulator

Make sure it's set to 'Live' and you should be ok.
