It's how I set up my products. I had 1 entered the old way (I'd been playing back and forth a bunch of times directly in the Admin catalog area to figure it out), then downloaded a .txt file, so I saw how it put each field in what column, then added categories and subcategories (some 4-5 levels down) into the blank columns on the .txt file. Uploaded it, and all were created. I just tested it with a few items first, but then uploaded 776 products doing it that way.

Is it possible to have Zen and Easy Populate get the image from an url?

I suspect that it doesn't work that way, but I thought I would just ask the Zen masters.

Easy Populate is a great product! I appreciate the great work of the authors of this product!

Okay, I got easy populate working great except the images for the products aren't showing up. They are there...they exist on the server....the image name is entered into the db being uploaded....but after importing it only gives us the "no image" picture. I look in the mysql db and that's all there is...none of the named images made into the db. Any ideas?

Whenever this happens, it's worth posting the answer for the benefit of others, no matter how basic, daft or embarrassing you think it may be - I'm guessing you had the wrong path for the images in EP? Or a lowercase/uppercase issue?

No, it doesn't work that way (assuming you mean images from another site) - at least, not for product images. There are discussions elsewhere on this - I think they're probably somewhere in the Archived threads.

Joseph, support for EPA is only given at the forums for the product.In answer to your question, if Zen Cart can do it, then Easy Populate can. Unfortunately, Zen Cart cannot without hacking your site. IMHO, it is not worth doing because:
1 - people can have remote images disabled for privacy
2 - you are relying on a 3rd party for the quality/availability of your site

Best to download the images from your supplier and upload them to your site.

using ep 1.2.5.4 can't download attributes. system keeps giving can't find page. i assume it's to big and it times out. is there way to change the time or to do a split download, could i take my .txt that i got downloaded last week and add the new attributes to it and up load?? and when(hopefully soon) i up grade to ep3.0 pro will i still have this problem?? any sugesstons would be great.. other than that it works like a charm

i tried it both ways . and same no page found. went to work which has T1 line and samething keeps error page not found. but i can download anything else and up load to. except abbtributes wont download. i can up load an old file but it dosn't have all the new attributes i added. now what

I now have Easy Populate (yee ha!), but I don't think it's working.

I tried to upload and download and nothing happens.

Please tell me where I messed up (if you can with just this little bit of information).

Easy Populate does NOT appear in the Admin config, but is available in Admin tools.
