    Default Re: Stocks by attributes

I have finally installed the mod and it's working and I'm really excited as I really, really, really need this.

However ..... (haha) I now have a prob or 2.

I have an item, beads in diff colors so I've set up the colors. I have started setting up the qties for each individual color available. And I also have price breaks on the item.

One of the colors costs 0.15 less than the rest. So I set the product price as 2.45 and that particular color I set it at -0.15, the rest are all +0.00.

When I add the lesser costing color to cart the price shows as 0.00 but when i add one of the others the price displays correctly. However, when I enter a quantity which should give me a discount, it doesn't.

I am using ZCv1.2.7 and mod version 4.4. Any ideas?

Also, I've read a few ppl talking about wanting to show the quantities available for each diff option but I haven't seen clear instructions on how to set it up or if it is available or not for this version. Is it?

    Thank you.

Also, I used checkbox instead of dropdown. I was hoping that by using checkbox customers would be able to choose a combination of the different colors and get a price discount rather than having to buy a set quantity per color to get the discount.

Is that posible somehow? As I said b4 it isn't discounting at all even when I add the same color but even when i tried to check 2 colors and then add to cart it comes up as sold out even thought both colors have stock available. So I'm thinking the checkbox option may not be posible.

    Thank you.

Here's an interesting twist. I added an attribute to another product which also has price discounts. When I entered the qty required for the dicount it worked.

But it definitely cannot add multiple color choices at once and offer a discount. Which I'm spewing about as I was hoping to offer my customers discounts on the same porduct regardless of the color choices. It looks as though they will need to buy x amount of each color to get a discount.

Unless I haven't set it up right, if anyone else has it working in this manner, do not hesitate to share it with us please.

    Thank you.

Ok, ignore all of the above. Whatever the problem was, it only had to do with the one product I was working with. Price discount work across the board and all seems well.

The only question I have now is, is it posible to display the attributes pics horizontally rather then verticaly? And is it posible to display each attributes qty available on the product info page?

Sorry for the bother and thanks for your patience.

Hey there, glad to see you managed to get the mod installed -
one thing that you should note - the current versions of the mod that are available for download, I believe are for ZC v 1.3+

If you are running ZC v 1.2.x you might want to check the archives for information on further customizing the mod.

I downloaded and installed Stock By Attribute 4.4 with Zencart 1.37 and everything seems to be working. However, we are having issues with it allowing customers to check out with more items than are available without giving our "insufficient stock" message. Customers who try to check out with more than the total quantity of all the attributes get the usual error message. It may be easier to give an example.

I have an item at http://bodybangles.net/index.php?mai...oducts_id=2350

that has 5 colors - I have 4 in stock of each color - for a total quantity of 20. If a customer chooses 5 of any particular color, they do not get an "Insufficient Stock" message as they should, because there are only 4 in stock. It is only after I place 21 in the cart that I get an "insufficient stock" message. It appears that the program is not checking individual stock - only total.

This is the exact question I have as now it seems they can even purchase one that is out completely creating a -1 in the stock on the attributes by size screen? Anyone else, or is there a fix for this that I am not aware of?

Can this module for stock by attribute made compatible with easy populate?
I would like to upload my products with attributes AND Stock.

I am also willing to pay for it.

The person in the best position to do this is Langer, the developer of Easy Populate. However, now is not a good time to do it, as the stock by attribute functions are scheduled to be taken into the core Zen Cart code in its next major release. So development work undertaken now, is likely to be wasted.
