    Here is what happen.

    After my customer add item to cart, they have 2 options.

    Option 1: login to my site, select shipping method, then payment option.
    it has a option to select google checkout(not a google check out icon, just a radio buttom).
    If customer select google check-out, click on confirm order. It's just go to
    "your order has been completed" page. It dosen't show or go to google
    check out page, the order show on my web site admin area, but it didn't
    charge and didnt show in my google account.

    Option 2: click on google check out icon, it add taxes to the order. But
    all the shipping options appear to $0.00. I tried to send 1 in my admin
    area in my web site, but it appear $1.00. How do I hide some of the
    shipping option and calculate shipping by weight? When my customer select
    google check out, does it also send the item weight to google check out?
    If so, in my google account, where do I set up that?

    Or, Did I totally messed up? I download the patch and upload the file to my zen-cart folder. If you don't mind, please direct me a step by step procedures. Do I have to re-install zen-cart again?
    For option 1: You're using the wrong tpl_checkout_payment_default.php. Make sure you don't have an old template from GCO in your custom template folder. If you're using the right template, you should only have Google Checkout option without the radio button. This means for your customer to use google checkout, they will access it from login page or shopping cart. Alternatively, you can remove the text from showing on the payment page so it doesn't create any confusion for your customers.

    For option 2. You need to first figure out what shipping options you want to offer via Admin-Modules-Shipping. Once you've configured your shipping option make sure that you accurately configure your shipping options in /includes/modules/payments/googlecheckout.php. Once you've accurately configured that, you've earned the right to experience the problem that we are currently experiencing with this mod It works very inconsistently!!!

    Inside my templates folder

    common (folder)
    css (folder)
    images (folder)
    sideboxes (folder)
    templates (folder)
    template_info.php
    tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
    tpl_login_default.php

    I tried to remove
    tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
    tpl_login_default.php

    but the radio option still appear after customer login to my site.

    Where is the folder " tpl_checkout_payment_default.php" located? Am I going to delete it?

    Second, I have configured UPS & USPS under admin>Modules>shipping Modules

    then "includes/modules/payments/googlecheckout.php"
    I need to modify it? changing the code? which line? and change it to?

    Thanks!

    It appears you need to do some reading. All the questions you're asking are already discussed in details in this thread. So I don't waste the forum resources, I will not answer with the same information that is already available in this thread. You will be amazed how many new discovery you find when reading the thread.

    Not certain of that version. Latest is 1.3RC2. See link in ropu's signature.

    the tpl_checkout_payment_default.php
    would be in /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/

    If it is not in there then you may have incorrectly overwrote or edited the same file in
    /includes/templates/template_default/templates/

    1.3RC2, unlike previous versions of the mod, does not contain tpl_checkout_payment_default.php

    Might be easiest for you to just upload the stock Zen Cart version of tpl_checkout_payment_default.php (from the Zen Cart distribution zip archive)
    to both directories (if you have not modified that file).

    Regards to configuring shipping, have you ran the shipping method generator tool in /googlecheckout/shipping_generator/
    (also new in 1.3RC2).

    BTW Jacob does not lurk in these parts. ropu is the developer. You would have known this if you would have read the the most recent posts in this thread before posting

    Ropu, GC works great, however, at least in my case, there are two issues which you haven't addressed and it kind of takes away GC's advantage over PayPal.
    ...make that three issues, just found another one.

    My main reasons for using GC are:
    -----
    1) Lower fees than paypal (and of course currently no fees)
    2) Guaranteed payment from all countries which GC supports, unlike paypal limiting seller protection policy to U.S., Canada and the U.K.

    ...and the issues:
    -----
    1) International calculated shipping rates do not work(USPS, UPS, etc). Only fixed international rates work(Flat, Per Item, etc), which I'd rather not use.
    I'm not sure if anyone else here cares much about being able to offer GC to international buyers as I don't recall anyone complaining about this, but for me it is very important, as much as 50% of my profit comes from international customers. I really want to be able to use USPS calculated shipping rates.

    2) GC doesn't take into consideration Low Order Fee, a standard feature of ZenCart.
    As mentioned earlier I sell at true wholesale and my profit is very small. I charge a low order fee for small orders plus I also offer a free shipping option on all orders. If anyone places a relatively small order and GC doesn't charge the Low Order Fee, it is a loss for me. This has happened many times, I think customers have realized that they can bypass the Low Order Fee by using GC.
    It would be great if you could add some code so that GC checks the total of the items and if the total is less than a specified amount, GC should add an item called 'Low Order Fee'.

    3) GC doesn't take into consideration all the restrictions of a coupon. Please change the code so it takes all restrictions.

    Unfortunately, this normal for this mod as the merchant calculation is currently a joke. It works sometimes and it doesn't work other times. If your server doesn't respond quick enough then it doesn't work. Depending on server load, this could affect whether it works or not. This is just one of about a dozen serious issues with this mod.

    1. Some of you might be interested in this report by Linda/Merlin regarding USPS servers connectivity issues. http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64058

    2. Ropu, could you PLEASE respond to some of the recently posted Google Checkout for Zen Cart mod issues which are still outstanding. You appear to be "cherry picking" and responding to the easy to answer posts but for whatever reason are NOT responding to the shipping, tax and other significant issues.

    At least can you please answer with "I'm investigating this issue and will post back when I have more information".

    Thank you,

    This question relates to a workaround to the current lack support for instant downloads. Regards to the script you provided to test if a product is a virtual product, and if it is then print a warning message on the product description page.

    I can see your code works fine on the login and shopping cart pages. That is, when a non-physical product is added to the shopping cart, then a message "Some download products in your cart are currently not available via Google Checkout" displays below the disabled Google Checkout button.

    Have you had an opportunity to test the code you provided on tpl_product_info_display.php?

    Unfortunately I cannot get it to work. It appears the script is tied to the contents of the shopping cart session? (e.g. ['cart']) which does not apply to what I'm attempting to do. I've attempted to adapt your code for my described purpose but so far have been unsuccessful.

    Here again is what I'm trying to do:
    1. View product_info_display page for a specific product.
    2. Display a warning message if product is a download product.

    I see three files are of concern here:
    1. a template file (tpl_product_info_display.php) which calls an include;
    2. an include which first loads application_top;
    3. a class file with a function;

    And the 'products' table contains two relevant columns: 'products_id' and 'products_virtual'

    So I created my own includes and class files below. But I'm havnig some issues as described below. Could you please take a look to see if the ideas should work.

    The function gets the value of 'products_virtual' for a specific 'products_id'. If it contains a "1" then "virtual" should be returned. Otherwise return "physical".

    I think my problem is passing the 'products_id' (for the product description page which is currently displayed) from the template file to the includes file and to the class/function. And then how do I return the value evaluated by the class/function file back to the includes and template files?

    1. Template: /includes/templates/MY_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
    Insert this code snippet somewhere:
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    include('download_type_include_for_gc.php');

    $download_type $_GET['products_id']->get_download_type();

    if (
    MODULE_PAYMENT_GOOGLECHECKOUT_VIRTUAL_GOODS == 'True' && $download_type != 'physical' ) {
        echo
    '<p class="productGeneral">This download product is currently not available via Google Checkout. However it is available through regular shopping cart checkout.</p><br />';
          }
    ?>
    2. Includes: file /download_type_include_for_gc.php
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    /*
     * download_type_include_for_gc.php
     * to display download_type on product description pages for Google Checkout
     *
     */

    include_once('includes/application_top.php');
    //print_r($_GET['products_id']->get_download_type());

    ?>
    3. Class/function: /includes/classes/get_download_type.php
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    /**
     * get_download_type.php class
     */

    class get_download_type {

        function
    get_download_type() {
            global
    $db;

    $download_check $db->Execute("select products_virtual
                        from "
    TABLE_PRODUCTS
                        where products_id = '"
    zen_get_prid($products_id) . "'");

            if (
    $download_check->fields['products_virtual'] == '1') {

    $this->download_type 'virtual';
                    } else {

    $this->download_type 'physical';
                }

            return
    $this->download_type;
        }
    }
    ?>
    However the product description page stops rendering when arriving at the template snippet code above.
    Error in error log is:

    What to I do to make it "unknown"? Do I have to register the class file or something special? Or do I put the class file in a special directory?

    Or is there something wrng with this:
    PHP Code:
    $_GET['products_id']->get_download_type()
    Am I getting close or am I completely off on a wrong roller coaster track?

    Thanks for any pointers,
    Woody
    woody

    try this
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    class download_type {

        function
    download_type() {
        }

        function
    get_download_type($products_id) {
            global
    $db;

    $download_check $db->Execute("select products_virtual
                        from "
    TABLE_PRODUCTS "
                        where products_id = '"
    zen_get_prid($products_id) . "'");

            if (
    $download_check->fields['products_virtual'] == '1') {
             return
    'virtual';
            } else {
             return
    'physical';
            }
        }
    }

    $type download_type::get_download_type($_GET['products_id']);

    ?>
