PC Configurator Module [Support Thread]

Hi Misty.

I managed to make this module work just today. Many things have to be done. I will be testing it for 5-10 days to fix some bugs and make it better and then I will post here first , the first version for crash test.

When all things go well, then I will upload it to downloads.

Does anybody know any function to produce uniq numbers based on a limited value, like 99.999.999.999 ?

I want to use it to produce a serial number for each custom pc. Now I use the session id without letters combined with floored price to produce a serial number.

But if session id remains the same, this is not good, so I need a function like this.

As for instructions, I will make it detailed and I will post it here latter with all needed files and modifications.

Just forgot to upload what has been done!!

There are no instructions in the zip file but there is all code used.

Also I inluded 2 nice pictures , one for Intel PC and one for AMD PC.

I might be inclined to start with a call to the zen_create_random_value() function, specify whether you alpha, numeric, or mixed, and maybe combine that with some other value, such as microtime or something. Then store the generated number in a new database table for comparison purposes and compare ... just to be sure no duplicates are ever generated.

Is it possible to make the options change when you select a different motherboard
(so if you click on mobo 1 then 6 cpus come up, select mobo 2 and 3 come up)

My page shows the NAVBAR_TITLE and the HEADING_TITLE instaed of step 1 2 3 etc.. How can I change this?

Hello.

PC Configurator Module is working fine. There where some bugs in installation and some other in the code.

New version, will come with many modifications and new features.

Just be patient, because write now I do not have time to pack and upload the new version.

Configured PC is being inserted in the database as a standalone product, but also all of it's parts are going directly to the shopping cart.

Compatibillity check will take effect int he next version.

Please understand that I do not have time write now for details.

Go to admin and find category "PC COnfigurator Options"

There you will find many subcategories where you can add your products.

When you copy ( duplicated NOT linked ) products in these categories, they should apear in pc configurator.

When you add new products in these categories, you should press EDIT for each one product, ( then cancel - no need to edit ) to make them show on pc configurator.

You press edit, on every product, after addition because we need to run a part of code.

If you copy products, from other categories, inside "PC COnfigurator Options" subcategories, there is no need to press EDIT for each product.

If you use the classic template, you should upload your files in your classic directories.

This will be done with AJAX and compatibility check.

I am preparing all files, so we can use override system instead of changing original system files.

Should be done hard work for this, to be compatible with a general configurator
