    Default Remove Quantity from Listings

I do not want product quantity to show online. Since products I sell are drop shipped I have no idea what is in stock on any given day. Better to remove it.

    I tried:

    Product Listing
    .../Display Product Quantity / 0=false, 1=true

It does not work? I tried 0, 1, true, false and no change takes place regardless of what I try. Quantity 0 still shows in stock.

Am I in the wrong place? (If so what does the above setting do?)

    Thanks.

What template are you using? Does the quantity display go away if you change templates? Have you modified the tpl_product_info_display.php file?

I modified version ( only cosmetic ) of the default template. No I did not edit the above named file. I did not change templates, don't want to now that I have started to work this this one.

There are many settings for this ...

You are talking Configuration ... Product Listing ... and the Catalog ...Product Type Edit Layout ...

NOTE: each of the other Listings also have their own settings for full customization ...

Each Product Type has its own setting ...

Go to Catalog ... Product Type ... and hit the EDIT LAYOUT button and turn OFF what you do not wish displayed ...

Each Listing has its own settings ...

    Product Listing
    New Listing
    Featured Listing
    All Listing

Turn OFF anything you do not wish displayed ...

Boy that's a rather inconvenient method...perhaps the developers will update the next release to allow doing that globally. hint hint

If I owned a store ... I would want to customize the shop my way and have individual settings for each section so that my way can differ from your way and Fred can differ from us and so can Harry ...

IF there were only 1 setting for all of this ... then we have 100s complain that now there is no flexibility ...

True but by the same token a global over ride for some things would be so much help when you want something turned off throughout the store. Especially if the store already has a lot of products in it, so you don't have to go back and edit things a hundred times over to make a change.

The idea of being able to set things individually is a good thing, but a global over ride would be great as well.

And back to the beginning then. What does this setting do? I tried it with no change that I can see.

    Product Listing
    .../Display Product Quantity / 0=false, 1=true

The Product Listing is what you see when navigating through the Categories or doing a Search ...

Setting to 0 turns OFF the setting so you will not see it ...
