Well ... look at how the Banners, Featured, Specials are managed and do something similar ...
It does take time to write all of the changes needed ... but it can be done ...

I think i can figure it out. I was thinking of running a php script that would change the status of a certain product. then setting up a cron job to run the script at the certain times. Would that be a good idea?
Do it that way or follow how this is done in the sections I named and you do not need to rely on a cron job to manage this ...
You need to do code changes anyway so you might just do it the right way to start with ...

ya i would but my php skills arent too advanced... i think setting up a cron job to run a script would be way easier.
