MultiSite Module Support Thread

I have the mod running well except the categories sidebox does not display. The breadcrumb works properly. Before I installed the mod, the categories sidebox did display. Is there a setting that I am missing?

Does this mod allow each store to have different configurations. For example different product pricing and being able to use discount coupons on one store but not one the other.

I want to have two stores, one retail and the other wholesale set up like this:
mystorename.com
mystorename.com/wholesale

Would this mod work for my purposes?

It would take more customization than usual but it can be done. Though I'm not sure about product pricing

ok total noob... how do I select a template? afaik, I have the sidebox enabled but nothing shows in the left or right columns. at present I am using the default (classic) templates copied into my site folders. I have this test site set up for 2 domains but will need several more.

Neve mind. Found it. I was looking at the layout settings not the layout box controller settings. thx for the help. running well now.

Do the multiple shops have to be housed on the same server, or can they be housed across multiple servers?

Also, is there anyway to have all of the shops go through 1 site for checkout? So, you'd have site1.com, site2.com, and site3.com, but once you click "Checkout" on any of the sites it takes you to checkoutsite.com?

you can have all the sites checkout through one. I'm not sure about the different servers. I would think it could as long as they all use the same database

Well spotted. I know this problem, I just didn't have time to fix it. Basically, all I have to do is fix the query using the usual cat_filter() function...

Using multi-site is it possible to have a “master” admin for all stores, but then there be different admins per store that can only perform limited functions eg they can NOT edit the inventory (eg pricing and specials) but they can process their clients’ sales, create gift certificates and discount vouchers etc.

The only way I thought this may be possible was by using the “Admin Profiles” module, however my understanding is that it only stops the onscreen display it doesn’t actually stop the user from access the function (eg if the user knew the correct URL they could type it in and get to the function) – this doesn’t provide the level of control required to separate the ADMINS in the model we require.

Can the above be done, any suggestions…..?

what I am looking maybe such an Amazone ones, where we can have main shop, and we can have partners which can manage their own products and also they need to responsible about it too.

is this already done ?
