red flag Re: Super Orders 2.0

    Hi,

I found out that when customers choose to pay by credit card, their order seems to be marked as paid automatically because the balance due in Customers > Super Orders is displayed as zero and the amount applied is the same as the total. This isn't good because not all credit card transactions go through successfully. What should I do to fix this? Please advise. Thank you.

Also, I found out that if customers choose to pay using PayPal, the balance due is not zero. Because PayPal payment goes through instantly, it will be great if we can display it as zero with amount applied same as the total. Please advise. Thank you.

Thanks for your response. What about the credit card payment. Can it be changed so that super orders does not pick it up and mark balance due as zero? This is because I am charging customers manually when they choose to pay by credit card.

Also, how do I do the paypal payment manually with the payment button? I know where the button is but don't really know how to make use of it. Please advise. Thanks again.

help question Edit Order vs. Super Orders 2.0

I tried to install the Edit Order Contribution

    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_41&products_id=444

    but nothing happened
    what did i miss?
it looks lot simpler to install than Super Orders 2.0

all i think i need is to be able to do is delete individual items in an order

so is there any wisdom on which one to go with?

As far as I know, the Edit Orders module is problematic. With Super Orders, you can manage your orders better but you can't edit your orders except to "split away" unwanted products. You can't add or edit orders.

    thank you
it also looks like there is more of a community around this one

when you say "split away", do you mean turn it into a separate order (if say, something wasn't available)?
if so, you could delete that other order, no?

though the install looks daunting, i will give it a shot (after backing up...)

The install was easy for me. Everything worked perfectly the first time (as I remember now...). I also have a bunch of other mods installed and none of them seemed to have any trouble with this one.

    dealbyethan.com,

I don't know about get SO to not apply the CC transactions but for the paypal ones the page will show the paypal info but doesn't apply it. What i do is cut and paste the paypal trans id into the number entry, person paying in the name block, amount paid in that block and pick paypal in the dropdown and submit. I don't worry about the check box items, I don't use them. Ocassionally I have a P.O. that I previously entered that I need to apply a payment to and I'll use the PO dropdown.

When SO applies the CC transactions, does it actually automatically inform customers via email that their CC payment went through? If it doesn't, then I can just leave it as it is.

Yes, for example, someone orders product A, B, C but product C is sold out. You can select product C and split it away from that order into a new order which you can then delete I believe. Note that if the customer would like to substitute product C with product D, you can't use SO to do it at this stage. Other people suggest to manually make changes in phpmyadmin. However, this can be tedious as you have to change the attributes too...
