Default Can paypal express make your store's admin side run slooooow/time out?

I had this a couple of days ago for two days at random times and it was very frustrating.

When trying to access orders paid by using pp express, the page took a long time to load, at least a minute, and many times it timed out and received the 'the page cannot be displayed' error.

At first I thought my server had high loads or some other issue, but then I checked the catalog and it worked just fine and loaded very fast.

After processing a few orders I noticed it was only slow when accessing orders using pp express, which leads me to believe that was the reason, probably paypal's system had some issues and this in turn generates this issue in ZC.

Can someone confirm if in fact pp express causes this issue? Does the pp express mod access paypal's servers everytime you click on an order using pp express?

    Thanks.

Yes, it goes out to PayPal to inquire about the current status of the transaction.
Your access to the PayPal servers must be slowed down for some reason.

Thanks for the confirmation DrByte, just as I thought.

It kind of sucks that when the paypal system is having issues, it also brings some parts of our ZenCart to a halt.

BTW, this doesn't seem to affect orders using the PayPal IPN mod.
