    Default Stylesheet - IE 7 - problem

I don't really have any mods installed (just the column product listing mod). The front page was coming along with just changes to the stylesheet (in FireFox). I decided to check it in IE 7 and it doesn't seem to read the box colors, surrounding color, and the "New Product" listing is messed up.

Here is the stylesheet working fine in FireFox

Here is the stylesheet NOT working fine in IE 7

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

OK, I think I see what was wrong... but I'm not sure why.

For Firefox, you can comment out attributes on the stylesheet and they're not read. But IE reads even the commented out attributes, you must delete them.

    Why is this?

    Because IE is omnipotent?

Looks like you're getting it sorted. But...ummm.......you really
should be developing your template using the overrides system.

Yes, I'm just seeing this override system now. I think at this point, I will try to finish my customization, then switch it over to override.

Any idea on the "why does IE still see commented out sections of the stylesheet"?

    Thanks

<has no idea> Hopefully, someone more css-savvy can answer.

Maybe because IE bites the wax tadpole?

    (sorry, just had too)

IE does some strange things with CSS comments to allow the 'IE Hack' to do things based on the browser version. (Google it for more info). I avoid using it, but I suspect that may be at least part of the problem.
