Default Cannot inherit from undefined class base in admin shipping modules page

After installing the Canada Post shipping module 1.3.7d on my ZenCart 1.3.7 I am no longer able to access the Module/Shipping section of the admin site. It gives the folowing error message above where the list of shipping options should appear:
Fatal error: Class canadapost: Cannot inherit from undefined class base in /home/userfolder/store/includes/modules/shipping/canadapost.php on line 26

The customer side of the store won't display at all. It gives the folowing message:
    "Illegal Access"

I have been unable to find the trouble.

The only other add-on module that I have installed on that site prior to the Canada Post module is the French 1.3.7 module.

    Any ideas?

The "base" class was added in v1.3.0, and is required for all v1.3.x and newer versions.

If you're getting that error, it suggests that you're not really running v1.3.x.
This is also confirmed by your second problem of "Illegal Access" in the storefront ... which is also symptomatic of trying to use v1.3.x modules/scripts/code on a v1.2.x site.

Yes, you're right. I don't know how I did that, but I ended it with a zip archive containing 1.2.7 and my brain decided to see it as 1.3.7 .

Thanks a lot. It was a new setup, so i'll scratch everything and start fresh.
