    Default EasyPHP, cURL and SSl

    Greetings.

First and foremost, thank you very much for creating this software. Not only is the creation impressive, but the level of *free* support is amazing. Thank you.

I am testing many different PHP based shopping cart systems prior to setting up a live site. I am using EasyPHP 1.8 (Excellent software for anyone trying to do local testing) and have a few questions.

I currently have the cURL and openSLL PHP extensions activated on EasyPHP however the installation complains about SSL not working correctly. Being ait localhost install, I do not want any Internet connectivity between EasyPHP and the outside world. With it not being connected, could this be causing the errors? I ignore the errors and the install runs fine.

On our site we really only plan on taking PayPal and check/money order. We have not settled on a host yet but if the host does not support cURL, will Zen and PayPal still work?

If you want to use PayPal Express Checkout or Website Payments Pro, you'll need to have CURL support.

So I guess I just have to hope my host has CURL installed. Is it a common thing for hosters to have installed?

    It's reasonably common.

Just be sure to ask before you sign up.

Better yet, check out the certified hosts listed on this site, by clicking the "hosting" tab at the top of this page.
