Images not showing (puzzled )

I have installed the newest version of zen-cart and all looks well, till I started to load the images. I have uploaed them by ftp into the images folder and they are there just waiting to show but i am now at my wits end trying. I have looked this foum for a good while now but I seem to be the only one with this problem. The other thing wrong is it does not show the small images on any of the pages in admin or categories. Could this be a bug or a linking problem.


I also bought the e-book that is advertised but it does not have any troubleshooting in it, a very good book to have at your side.

Thanks Marg for the answer, I am using WEB CEO ,which i have used a long time and I also use Voyager when I have to upload in ASCII.
I have looked at a lot of the posts and they all seem to be able to upload their first image but have bother to upload their secondary ones to the right directory.

Any help yuo can give I would appreciate.

Have you tried uploading on the product page? You may do well to install the Image Handler.. all your troubles will go away!

Is your path to your images correct?
Are you sure you put them in the correct folder?

What type is your images? jpg, gif, or png? Looks like you are missing the file type.

I have all of my images for products in the root folder /public_html
and any other pictures are in the folder public_html/images/

I have set up 4 zen carts and that is how they all setup by default for me.

Can I ask Tophand, where did you get the URL with the folders on it ??? Is it made up or did it come from my site.
Marge, where can I get Image Handler from and the images are jpg. I have tried uploading them on the product page and it actually puts them in the right folder but then they don't show up when you try and preveiw them ???

That's an admin issue... I bet you will see them when you look in your front end...

If you right click on one of your images in your cart and go to properties, you will see where your images are being called from.

Hi Marg,
Now i can get on with the task at hand.
What happened is that nomatter if I uploaded the images by image handler or the interal product/browse/preveiw, nothing worked for me.
My solution was to upload my images by ftp into the images folder then on the new product sheet entering the image.jpg, my mistake being before to enter image/then the image.jpg which was entirely the wrong folder. A simple mistake but devastating as you think you are doing the right thing all along.
