Help testing Allow-access-by-country mod

Hi folks;

I've had a number of requests to create a module that either:
- bans certain countries from accessing Zen Cart, or
- allow access only from certain countries.

I've created this module but it is proving difficult to test.

Any help would be appreciated.

Test URL: http://www.zen-fu.com/junk1/

Test configuration: Allowed Countries:
- Canada
- Australia
- United Kingdom

The above countries should have no problem accessing the Zen Cart site at the above test URL.

Visitors from all other countries should get a nice "Access Denied" message along with a note about where the server thinks you are coming from.

I'd greatly appreciate any reports of if the above config rules are working as expected from your country and if the server correctly or incorrectly identifies your country.

Seems to be working my results:

Access denied to connection seeming to come from: UNITED STATES

which is correct, I am located in the United States.

I would suggest though, having a slightly friendlier access denial page; incase a customer was to be incorrectly not allowed access... but all in all, seems to do what you wanted it to do.

Thank you! I very much appreciate your reports (good or bad).

I know the message is a bit terse, but in actual use, the visitor would be redirected to a more friendly page of the shop owners choosing (or simply ignored). I was a bit hasty (and lazy) and didn't spend much time on what happens after the test logic executes.

Mind you, FF doesn't like your Template coding. W3C cannot validate because it's from the U.S.

Yes, there are some pitfalls involved with restricting access from huge geographic areas. I appreciate you pointing that one out.

Works fine for UK. I think this would come in real useful for banning 'troublesome' countries.
