Default Putting products in my cart from another website

I have a question I hope that there is a better answer to. I am attempting to expand my customer base by taking my items to the iternet. So far I have added 4,000+ items to my products in ZEN Cart and I am not even 1/10th of the way there, some are duplicates among different groups but it has taken me a long time. Is there anyway that I can take items directly from my wholesaler's site and put them directly onto mine without have to do them one at a time by copying and pasting. I understand that I will have to go in and change the price on each one individually but it would still be faster than what I am doing.

I hate to spend the money on it , if it is not going to work for what I NEED

    .

A couple of years ago I had a situation where a client had 6,000 products in their company database, using a system of stock control called Pegasus Opera.

We exported the data from this dbase into a CSV file, then imported it into a MS Excel Spreadsheet.

We then "re-arranged" the data, to conform to the structure required by EasyPopulate.

This took me about 8 hours in total, as additional data was required, and we had to assign the products to categories. Using Excel made this process much faster, as we took advantage of the many features of excel to copy and shift data around the spreadsheet.

Fortunately, the client had given the product images the same base name as the Model Number, so using the CONCATENATE feature in excel, we quickly created a column with the model numbers with .jpg appended (Took about 5 minutes to create correct image references!).

Two or three of us then checked the spreadsheet manually for obvious errors.

A day later, we "populated" the zenshop with over 6,000 products and FTP'd about 10,000 images to the server.

    Total man-hours : about 18 hours

So, within 2 days, we went from having zero products in our zenshop, to having over 6,000 in the zenshop... thanks to Excel and EasyPopulate.

So... the miniscule fee for EasyPopulate is FAR, FAR LESS than 18 man-hours (at £20 / hour)

I have already put almost 5,000 items on the page that is not really the problem. The problem is linking to the product to multiple categories. I have not figured out how to link a sinlge product to 100 different categories with Easy Populate. I am selling ag parts and one part may fit 100 different models and I need to find an easy way to do this. How is this achievable with easy populate or any other software.

Ok I bought Easy Populate Advance and installed and have been trying to get items put into Excell. I am having a few issues and so far it is actually taking me longer this way. I have some questions about EPA if anyone on this site can help, I am not seeing much help over there.

TIP: Use Open Office (free program) NOT Excel,
    when using Easy Populate.
