Reward Point Mod beta now available

Agreed- I think it should be settable by the admin. We did discuss it earlier and the point was made that providing instant Reward Points could be open to fraud. Currently the mod uses the Order Status to dictate when the points are transferred between Pending and Earned. I've already coded in the Sunrise Period update (release soon, I promise).

However, I do believe there is merit in also using the Method of Payment to determine the Status of the reward points on the current order. I'll have a look at this.

Make a back up first before you install. Also review all the theards here. There might be a fix or two in them that hasn't made it into the download yet.

Thanks for that. I am going to have a go at installing. Have no choice but to the live store though so I hope thats not going to be a prob. I know where to come if I have any questions though

Has this now moved out of the Beta phase? Is installation of this add-on now recommend on a more general scale?

The current beta is stable in what it does. I won't move the mod out of beta until I've finished writing and testing the other add-ons. Difficulty is knowing where to stop. The current version history looks like this:

• Added Group Reward Redeem admin tool under Admin->Customers
• Added Customer Reward Point admin tool under Admin->Customers
• Refactored a lot of the Admin and standard Reward Point functions
• Renamed `reward_product_points` to `reward_master` to reflect the new role of the table
• Added Group and Customer Scopes to the reward_master file
• Added Simple/Advanced Order Status checking to trigger reward point transfer (to and from earned)
• Added "Display Zero Reward Points" configuration item.
• Added Minimum and Maximum redeem configuration items.
• Added Sunrise Period configuration item.
• Added Rounding configuration item.

Defered until later is:

• Award of points due to customer referal
• Periodic award of pending points
• Added points notification email
• Campaigns
• Test and integrate with Easy Order mod

So if there are no obvious "must haves" this is the version I will go to full release on.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. From the readme; What is the difference between the Point Ratio and the Redeem Ratio? And what is the recommended setting for each so as to not get into trouble by being overly generous?

Also, I'm running Zen version 1.3.6. Any idea if that will be a problem?

I think he originally tested it on 1.3.7 and there was issues with it working in 1.3.8 so he made some changes so it works on 1.3.8. I'm not sure about the compatiblity of 1.3.6.

The Point Ratio refers to how many points you want a customer to earn per dollar spent. I think default is set at a point Ratio of 1.0 so for every dollar spent 1 point will be earned.

The Redeem ratio is point to dollars. I have my redeem ratio set to .05 so every point they earn is equal to five cents in US. A ratio of 1.0 would be one dollar for every point. Every 50 Points gives them $2.50 and so on.
