I think you are missing the point of this mod.. This is simply a Zencart template. Nothing more nothing less.. The difference in this template is that unlike other ZenCart templates which may include template graphics and such.. This template allows you to style your shopping cart to look like an existing website using simple HTML. It does this by allowing you to embed the shopping cart within an html template file. Just like you do not access any other Zencart template by entering in the URL of the template files, you do not "SEE" the result of using this template by directly accessing the template embed file you create. You would "SEE" the result when you access your ZenCart.
For example: Your site URL is http://yoursite.com, the ZenCart URL is http://yoursite.com/shop. You would create your shop.html file for this template. Within your shop.html file you will insert the imbedding code where ever you want the template to display Zencart. If you have a navigation structure which is used throughout your main site, and you want that navigation "wrapped" around ZenCart, you would include the navigation code in your shop.html page. So you will include your navigation code, and the code to call Zencart placed where you want the cart to appear. When you go to your store's URL you will see your cart within your site's navigation. So for example if you had a top & bottom navigation bar throughout your site, and you used this template to "wrap" them around your store, the result would be like so:
=====Sitewide Top Navigation Bar=====
Zencart will appear here
====Sitewide Bottom Navigation Bar======
If you haven't done so already, you need to read this ENTIRE thread to REALLY get the gist of how this is supposed to work.. When I did this, it became CLEAR to me how this worked. With one small glitch (I downloaded the wrong version of this contrib the first time) it worked BEAUTIFULLY. I am using it on a current project because I had a situation where I needed to make a Joomla site work with ZenCart (I REFUSED to use VirtueMart). Based on this experience, I am IN LOVE with this template contrib.. I can see all KINDS of way I will continue to use this template.. I can see how I could even use it as a standalone template..
yes ,I understand this and that's what I have done but the embed code that I you put Inside the body is not bringing up my zencart it's just blank .
so this is what I have shop.html in my website with the embed code In It ,then Inside my zencart folder which is in my root I have In the Includes/templates/Sanguine Easy embed template/common/embed_cfg,html_header,and tpl_main_page /css/jscript/templates folders
and in admin set template also
I just went to your ZenCart (http://shoppingbasics.com/shop/), and the FIRST thing I noticed is that you DO NOT have this template selected as your default template. If you have set everything up correctly for this template (per the instructions) then you need to go to the ZenCart admin and select this template (right now you have the default Zen template as your default template). Remember this contrib is a template contribution.. You WON'T see the results until you select this template as your default ZenCart template.
Here' my current project's test site: http://clients.overthehillweb.com/phlaunthair
The "Plaunt Shop" link takes you to my ZenCart (which is using this template). This is working with the latest version of ZenCart, and it's NOT the newest beta version of this contrib that was just posted here recently..
This template helped me to easily style ZenCart to integrate with a Joomla main site. The toughest part of this project (which had NOTHING to do with this contrib) was synching the Joomla and ZenCart stylesheets to ensure a seemless look. Tough might be a strong word.. The synching of the stylesheets was more tedious work than anything else.. The template contrib itself worked BEAUTIFULLY the very first time..
To anyone who is having issues with this template here's my observations from having read this ENTIRE thread:
If you are having trouble, you may not completely understand HOW this contrib works, how to configure it, or how to SEE the results of your configuration.. This contrib is MUCH easier to setup than it may at appear at first blush. Read this ENTIRE thread, and you will see this..
- This is a TEMPLATE contrib. After installing and configuring this contrib, you will "SEE" the result when you select this template from the ZenCart template admin section
- You WILL NOT "SEE" the results of configuring this contrib by accessing your embed HTML file from your browser.
- It's a GOOD idea to READ this entire thread.. As of today, this thread is 14 pages long.. Now I KNOW some of you are saying "Can't I just skip to the end?" lf you are having trouble today with this contrib, and you are reading this post, then I submit to you that the answer is "No"..
The set up really is as easy as creating the embed file, making the necessary changes to the config file to point to the embed file, then selecting this template from your ZenCart admin..
No no no.. You WILL NOT see this if you access http://shoppingbasics.com/shop.html.. That's not how this contrib works.. This contrib is a ZenCart TEMPLATE.. After you install it and configure it you need to go to the admin within ZenCart and select this template as your template.. THEN go to http://shoppingbasics.com/shop and you will SEE the result.. If you have followed the configuration instructions correctly you will see your ZenCart inside the HTML code you put around it.. (the code you put inside the shop.html file)

yes, I understand that but what I'm saying is when I put this , <div id="content"><!-- START EMBED -->
<!-- END EMBED --> In the shop.html body it does not link to the zencart which is in my root so in the embed_cfg it should be: $zc_temp = 'shop.html';and that is inside common folder so what this is does is when i go to to my website in my nav. i create a link to shop.html and it should show zen cart in the body , which i take your basic stylesheet and redesign that to match my other html pages and everthing is good. but some how I'm not getting how to link it right . because if i create a link to zencart there would be no reason to make the shop.html or what ever you want to call it ,and you would just have an external link ,which is what i was doing . . thank's for your help and sorry i called it a mod.
