Best Zen Cart Book

Hey all. I am pretty good with the backend of my Zen Cart store, my friend sort of helped me with the install and such.

What would be the best book to get to learn how to change the home page and the index1 pages images. The best way to market the site. Layout etc.

I know how to change meta tags, the index page text, etc. Some of the easy customization.

But I would like my site to look like: http://sephoria.com/

So I can add monthly specials and/or beauty tips.

Yea thanks for the insight man, but I looked on Amazon for the same book and got poor reviews. I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter, lol, jk.

Have you used the book sold here? How in depth does it go? Does it give specifics on changing the layout of the pages and/or css layout.

No - and that is not its purpose. It is the owners manual - sorta' like the one you get with your car - that manual doesn't tell you how to paint your car - it tells you what all the buttons and switches do.

Exactly. So what book does anyone suggest to learn how to overhaul the transmission of Zen Cart, a nice step by step. For lack of a better word, I already know where the transmission goes and how it operates, I just need to find out how to take it a part and put it back together. Any suggestions? Thanks

It looks as if it goes a little further than the one by Goh Koon Hoek (which I thought was excellent).

I got a review copy. It goes into a bit more detail about how to do small customizations and template changes than GHK's book does. It also discusses various contributions and downloads. It has a good summary of issues involved in migration from OSC and operational issues involved in running a Zen Cart. But it doesn't go into nearly as much detail as GHK's book in dealing with day to day issues and operations using the Admin panel.

I would recommend this book in addition to, not in place of, GHK's manual.
