Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Easy Populate helps. Just export all your products and open in Open Office Calc. Then copy the items you want to cross sell and paste it in Advanced Cross-Sell in your Admin. Still had to manually enter a comma after each model # but still was the easiest for me for now.

Anybody have a better solution?

This is weird. I cross sell 16 product of the same category together. Now I put item 1 in the cart and cross sell shows me the correct specified number (12 items in my case) below the cart. Good so far.

Now I click on one of the items below my cart, the ones offered by cross sell, and then add to cart as well.

OK, now it starts to get weird. I have 2 items in the cart and below I now don't see the defined 12 items anymore but only 6!! Hey there should be plenty more to display as I set the number to 12 and have 16 product out of this category linked with each other.

What is going on? Why am I not seeing more product offered when more than one item is in the cart?

I add another one and then only 5 product show below. Strange...

Oh and I see the old Also Purchased mod displaying items below as well.

Anybody care to test? Add any items to the cart from this category and then add more items from the offered cross sell.

Anybody? Seems like I talk to myself....

Anyway, I suspect that this above behavior has to do with the old Upsell/Cross Sell mod. It seems when I add more items from the offered cross sell listing below my cart, that Upsell starts displaying some items as well. I wonder if it will only show a total X amout of items together. Is there a switch for this?? Not talking about the switch for this new cross sell, that one is set correctly the way I want it.

Cross sell has nothing to do with cart, so you may want to check the upsell support thread.

Also, this module uses the same table as the old xsell one.

And if you want to pull up a product's xsell preference you can use the search feature.

BUT cross sell makes products show on the shopping cart as well, or not? I do see the cross sell products underneath the cart. Is that because of the upsell mod that pulls products from cross sell?

No, that's either upsell or better together mod. XSell does NOT make xsell products show up any place other than the product_info page.

If you have a long list of numbers, I think you can save your spreadsheet as CSV then open in a text editor, and you'll get commas inserted automatically. I had a situation awhile back where I needed over 100 items separated by commas, and I think that's how I did it.

I have a small dilema. I cant figure out how to use the Cross Sell 1-way, which makes me feel kinda stupid...

But what is considered the upper and lower box. I have tried a few gifferent things but I keep getting the same error.

Can anyone explain it a little more to me?

Did you ever figure this out? I also cannot determine how to cross-sell one way. I check the "cross sell one way" checkbox, no other box appears, using the Edit Cross-Sells box below it doesn't work, it simply doesn't seem to work right.

I did figure out that you can make a one-way cross-sell by doing a normal two-way cross-sell, and then deleting the one that goes the way that you don't want, but this seems counter-intuitive when there is a checkbox that is supposed to work.

Any response to either of these posts yet? I'm having the same problem. It seems that a new set of boxes is supposed to appear when you click "cross sell 1 way," but nothing happens. If anybody has gotten this to work, please respond!

If you use advanced. There is a check mark box where you list your New Cross-Sells.

Cross sell 1 way only? (un-check)

If your page does not show this option, you have old cross sell advanced files. Upload all files of this mod to have it show right.
