Another thing to watch for...
Does music need data that is not in general? If so you will need option 1 above for that info.

Thanks for all the help as usual guys... Over the years, I don't think a single post I have ever made to the zen-cart forums has ever got a single response.![]()
I'm sure many people here haved shared your frustration at some time. I would think most users make posts that are never replied to. I know I have!
Unfortunately the author of this mod seems to have abandoned it.
In my experience, if someone posts a complex problem there are very few that will know the answer, and hence few/no replies.
I'm sure you noticed this thread has been busy lately, but not with info you need. The other posts have been about things that myself and others have seen and know the solution.
Also, it appears that the team does respond to all questions about the core software of which EP is not part.
My only suggestion would be try the classifed section for an experienced coder that could work with you.
Not to be rude, but remember that this is open source software supported for FREE by the community of volunteers and other users.

So after my last post, I'm using EP for a client site (hosted on GoDaddy) and guess what? Of course it appears to not complete and displays the message you received.
Now seeing the problem first hand and having data to analyze, this is what I did & what I found:
In my case I was deleting 267 products by using the status column = 9.
I took a sample of the first few items in the file, a few in the mid and a few from the end. I did a search of my site and found none of the products still there.
A logical conclusion is the loop did complete.
As the reason for the apparent timeout could be overly complex, and beyond my ability to find the cause. I just accept that the update worked. I of course will try to find the cause when I have time, but it's not a big priority.
Maybe not the best answer, but it's what works for me.
If I was not willing to deal with a free forum based support system, I would have purchased a product with paid support. This was a big, important decision and a lengthy conversation was had with the client prior to going open source. The pros & cons of open source have to be weighed against your needs and capabilities.

I am using EP to upload my products, but I noticed that I cannot upload long filenames. The names are cutted off if they exceed the 64 chars (I think so) and as a consequence of course the images won't show.
Is there any way I can change this ?
Wondering if anyone wants to help me with trying to get links to work for pictures in easy pop? I am going to try to attempt this by myself since I can not find any information on this anywhere. I guess my first attempt tonight will be to mess with the easypopulate.php and see where I get from there. If nayone has any suggestions , please feel free to let me know, so I can mess around with them. Thanks...![]()
jgg,
The easiest way may be to just add the link to your description. I always do html by copying working code, but basically somewhere in your description you could add
<a href= ???> <img src=???> and whatever else is needed.
This totally eliminates to need to mod any code.
Of course this will only work on the product detail/info page. No suggestions for listing pages.

File Import Failed! Primary index column v_products_id or c_categories_index_path missing from uploads file. Please consult the readme.html file for more information
Both fields are filled in on the template.txt file , any ideas , I've searched the forum with very few answers.
