    Default unique credit card errors

    right now if the credit card is declined, it just reloads the order page... I need to set up some kind of unique error identifier, so when it comes back it tells the customer what is wrong.... like:

    1. general & any unexpectederrors (server timeout, etc)
    2. declined (no chedder in the bank)
    3. avs mismatch (don't know which house is theirs)

    this is critical, we are gettin 30 calls & emails a day from customers saying, "I don't know if my order went through, the page just keeps reloading..."

    Since this behaviour is governed by your payment module and payment gateway, it's a shame that you haven't shared any information about which you are using.

    We use authorize.net and do get error codes and messages back. What gateway are you using?

    Our clients use SecPay, ePDQ, Protx, Moneris, NoChex and Paypal. But not authorize.net, so alas, I'm not the person to help you with this.

    yes, we use Authorize.net, so how can our checkout page read the codes and say what happens when the order comes back and didn't go through.

    There are two modules. We're using the AIM version but have not customized it at all.

    If your template is not showing the errors, then you have problem customized the page to not display messageStack output even though the payment module is generating it.
    If system-generated error messages are not displaying, that's usually a template-customization problem.
