Default Various Questions - Don't want to Spam thread

There is a few things Id like to add/change on my page and customize

    1. Id like to add the Date format somewhere in my footer as in "Thursday October 24, 2008" and have it update every day. How can I do this?

    2. On Checkout How come there is two options to checkout with paypal? I have PayPal Express and Standard set up is this good or not good? I don't want to get the customers confused to which to select. Any feedback?

    3. How do I change the "My Card" graphic with credit cards I accept?

    4. how do I take the border of my products description and expand the box?

    5. how do I move the "Add to Cart" button to the right towards the right column when viewing an individual product?

    6. Can I have "Model" changed to "Item"? If so, how?

    7. How do I turn off the "highlighting" of message stack and just use bold letters with Red, Yellow and Grey?

    8. "Your IP Address is" can I move this to the header right next to my search box? if so, how?

9."This product was added to our catalog" how do I change it to this format MONTH DAY, Year?

    10. Sorry for all the questions, I figured I should sum it all up in one thread instead of posting individual ones.

Thank you everyone that has helped and supported me It has been a bumpy ride, but it looks like its smooth sailing ahead real soon :)

    Thanks in advance :)

Wrong strategy. We don't mind lots of questions, especially when they are as clearly expressed as these.

However, when they're all bundled together in a monster post it's very offputting to people who may amswer (if indeed there is anybody who could answer all of them). Anybody who starts answering, risks investing a lot of time only to get to question 8 and find that somebody else has already answered them. Most of us will just pass.

Ok then, so I should post these individually then your saying?

Yes. But here's the answer to 1. to be going on with

Add the following where you would like to display the date string ...

    <p><?php echo date('l F d, Y'); ?></p>
And people will probably want to a URL to help with 4, 5 and possibly 2.

I'll agree with kuroi on his forum etiquette point. If you have several questions that are all related to the very same concept, feel free to group them together. But if they relate to different matters or if you're unsure whether they're related, it's often better to separate them.
Grouping unrelated topics often leaves some questions unanswered, and then you come back begging for those to be answered but the discussion is too long and confusing to sort out, and so they remain unanswered.

Another reason for grouping only "related" items together is ... so when others come along in the future searching for the same question you asked, they'll find a clear concise answer to that specific issue, not cluttered with several other unrelated discussions they have to wade through. :)

You can select EITHER express or standard. You don't need to offer both. Pick the one you like and stick with it. Express tends to be more reliable. Standard doesn't require the customer to make a PayPal account. Your choice.

On 6, yes, but it depends which page you're talking about. If you want to do the change universally, you'll have to update:

    includes/languages/english.php
    includes/languages/english/document_general_info.php
    includes/languages/english/advanced_search.php
    includes/languages/english/product_info.php
    includes/languages/english/products_all.php
    includes/languages/english/index.php
    includes/languages/english/document_product_info.php
    includes/languages/english/advanced_search_result.php
    includes/languages/english/product_music_info.php
    includes/languages/english/product_free_shipping_info.php
    includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php
    includes/languages/english/featured_products.php
    includes/languages/english/products_new.php

Alright thanks, should the answers to the questions that you guys have answered still be asked in another thread? or is it worthy to add to the tutorial pages by an admin?

If the question is already answered, there's no need to ask it again.

Don't worry about what makes it into the FAQ. The forum contains literally tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of questions. Even with only a few hundred entries in the FAQ, many users seem to have trouble locating the information they want. So only a small minority of regularly asked or generic questions are likely to find their way in there and the Forum Admins have a lot of experience of working out which would have the greatest benefit for the community.
