    Default Renaming Ezpages links

    Hi,

Maybe this question has been asked before earlier but I couldnt find the answer in the forums.

Is there a way to manually name ezpages links?

I mean right now when I add a page using ezpages it is automatically named something like:

    http://gemsoul.com/page.html?id=1

How do I rename it to:

    http://gemsoul.com/ruby.html

Maybe its very simple but I can't figure it out

    Regards,
    Harshil

It looks like you are using an seo module. You need to check with the author of this module to see if it is possible.
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

Yes I am using an seo module which renames the Categories automatically. But that module has nothing to do with Ezpages.

Actually what I intend to do is name ezpages link based on the content of that page (such as abc.html, xyz.html) instead of page.html?id=1 sort of a name.

Like I said, you need to contact the author of that module.
I assume you are using Magic Seo Url, a commercial module, then you should contact them for support.

If you are using Ultimate SEO URL, you are out of luck, the author is long gone.

BTW, the default ezpage link is like this
    index.php?main_page=page&id=1

The fact that your ezpage link looks like page.html?id=1 means that the seo module you are using already make changes to the link.

Oh, ok. But anyways, lets say that SEO module is not installed, then in that case, how do I change index.php?main_page=page&id=1 to something like abc.html or xyz.html?
    Is that possible?

    No. It is not possible.

Simple Seo Url can help you to do that, but since you have been using the other seo module for a while (I assume), it is not good to remove it and install another seo module.

If you do, I will recommend 3+ versions that offer link-alias feature.

But please note that as of now SSU does NOT understand links generated by USU, that may temporarily effect your search engine rating. Think twice.

Also, if you do, you will have to completely remove(recommended) or somehow disable USU. Having 2 seo modules running on the same site will bring you some unexpected results.

Yes I think it will be wise to completely remove USU. Fortunately since I built the site recently and have not yet worked on search engine optimization, hence only few of my pages are cached in google.

I found the following link from searching the forums which provides complete guide on how to uninstall USU:

    http://www.magic-seo-url.com/zencart...-seo-urls.html

    I hope it will work!
