    Default Re: Rokslideshow for Zen-Cart

    I also did a fresh install of 1.38a on a linux server with no other mods and just the use of the classic template and can not get the slideshow to work either. This is on walsplantland/store.co.nz. Also I am unable to get it to work on the wallisnurseries.co.nz which was an upgrade from 1.37 to 1.38a
    Any help/suggestions appreciated.

    You might want to fix the validation errors on your main page.

    You have double html, head and body tags that should be deleted.

    This is from the view source of your main page.

    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <style type="text/css">
    p.c1 {text-align: justify}
    </style>

    </head>

    <body>

    <p class="c1"><img title="twoheads" height="383" alt="twoheads" src="/images/twoheads.jpg" width="630" border="0"></p>

    I'm not sure if this will help or not but give it a try and let me know the results.

    open the folder:

    includes/rokslideshow

    and delete the file index.html

    I would love for this to work. I've been trying like mad to get a good slideshow fixed up.

    I'm working locally using WAMP. I thought I followed the instructions correctly but it won't show up for me. I've tried it on the homepage and also an EZ page. I saw the thing about removing the reference to...
    Code:
    if ($this_is_home_page) { ?>
    and it still doesn't work.

    I did notice in the "Read Me" that it says, "Edit the file /includes/rokslideshow/jscript_rockslideshow.php" But when I copied the files over for installing I notice the path to the jscript_rockslideshow.php is NOT that, but, includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_rokslideshow.php. (Yes, I did rename YOUR_TEMPLATE to my own template name.)

    Is the "Read Me" wrong or are the files mixed up?

    Hope this can be worked out.

    Rebekah,

    These are the files/folders that should be in the distribution.

    images/rokslideshow (the demo images are in this folder)
    includes/rokslideshow/mootools-release-1.11.js
    includes/rokslideshow/rokslideshow.js
    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_slideshow.php (by default this contains the demo slideshow script)

    The folder includes/rokslideshow/ also has an index.html file which can be deleted.

    Rename the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder to match the name of your custom template.

    You can edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_slideshow.php
    to meet your own requirements by editing the following section(s) of the file and including your own information
    file: '1.jpg',
    title: 'Audi RS8 V-12 TDI LeMans Concept - Side View',
    desc: 'THe unique orange/grey color scheme makes this concept stand out from the crowd.',
    url: 'http://demo.rockettheme.com' (if you don't need a URl just replace the information between the single quotes with a #)

    Rename your own images to match the pattern (1.jpg, 2.jpg etc.) in images/rokslideshow and upload them.

    By default the mod will place the slideshow on your home page.

    Include the slideshow place holder in includes/languages/english/html_includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/define_main_page.php

    <!-- BOF place holder for rokslideshow -->
    <div id="slidewrap">
    <div id="slideshow"> </div>
    <div id="loadingDiv"> </div>
    </div>
    <!-- EOF place holder for rokslideshow -->

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Clyde, I had the contibution pulled from the downloads section until the bugs can be worked out. If ANYONE gets this to work, let me know right away.

    To make your description match exactly to the distribution layout:
    These are the files/folders that should be in the distribution.

    images/rokslideshow/ (the demo images are in this folder)
    includes/rokslideshow/mootools-release-1.11.js
    includes/rokslideshow/rokslideshow.js
    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_rokslideshow.php (by default this contains the demo slideshow script)

    The folder includes/rokslideshow/ also has an index.html file which can be deleted.

    Rename the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder to match the name of your custom template.

    You can edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_rokslideshow.php to meet your own requirements by editing the following section(s) of the file and including your own information
    Sorry for the confusion, this was my first attempt at putting together a Zen-Cart mod package.
