In terms of being able to send text and/or graphic material with the order... Yes, Zencart can do this.

However, you are looking for a feature that is sometimes called "conditional attributes" - where the value inserted in one field influences the display (or content) of other fields.

Right now, ZC cannot do the latter, but we are all hoping that the next release (1.4) will have this capability.

There are various modules available that cope with group pricing, and there are a number of people who could assist with custom code if necessary.

Thank you very much for the answers. We'll definitively have a further look at Zen-Cart. Hopefully we'll manage to make it work the way we need it to!

Glenn got in fractionally ahead of me! (Makes my post look irrelevant), but I have to agree with him.

Sometimes, our attempts to "over-automate" a process fails to take into account the peculiarities of human behaviour. Glenn points these out.

I believe ZC will offer you a very good solution for your product type - even with its (perceived) limitations. Best advice is to install ZC and try it out.

OK I couldn't be more new to this forum and I've had a dern easy time getting around in it! YAY for the devs! However this thread is the closest I've come to my actual question.

I'm creating a custom graphic mug site ( http://yours-by-design.com ) and I would like to figure out how to make it so they could upload their graphic directly to the order so I could design their mug and ship it instead of having to email it to me and so on. What do I do? and Where do I go?

I would think that this can still be done with v1.3.9d (the latest as we write this).

Just make sure you backup all and sundry before making your changes. Or even better - test it in a cloned environment before going live.

The image upload feature has been available in core Zen Cart for years, and is essentially the same now as then.

Have you looked in the tutorials? A search for "attributes" leads to How do I add attributes to my products?

Admin > Catalog > Option Name Manager >> enter name and order, select "File" type in dropdown box, click "insert".
