If you are worried, you can use 2.9.6.

The fact that I recommend 3.4.1 means that it's good enough, but if you want a really stable one then go for 2.9.6

What does error SSU_LINK_ALIAS duplicate entry indicate , it sounds like it's two of something but in the error message I see a make link alias true but on doing so nothing happens?

It means that somehow you have certain sql patches run more than once, can you copy the exact error, and where you get it, how you get it?

This is on installation of 2.9.7 and the entire site was blank too so I took everything out and uploaded everything again but the same thing happened . So I took it out and am trying to figure it out , I was thinking module manager might have something to do with it or html_output.php

You should run zencart debug and see exactly what kind of error you have, then we can use that to solve the problem
