Cant find my new template

I've uploaded the files to the includes folder but the template does not show up in the template selection menu.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong? And how do I find it?

Did you install according to the Read Me file?
You should have uploaded a template folder (containing a css folder and perhaps a buttons, a common and other folders) to the includes/templates folder (where you will already find the "classic" and "template_default" folders.

It was a free template. Could it be that it is not compatible? I followed the readme file.

Did you select the template after you uploaded all the files?
Admin-->Tools-->Template Selection
