I managed to figure out how to delete the cross sells...

If you click on the edit button (after you click list all cross sells), scroll right to the bottom and you will see a whole bunch of cross sells pertaining to the product for you to edit individually.

check the delete boxes and hit update. The cross sells will be deleted. Worked for me!

Still can't figure out the 1-way cross sell though...let me know if you manage to get it sorted out. Thanks!
