Wordpress On ZC [Support Thread]

Odd. I just installed WP 2.7 (via Fantastico) onto my moderately fresh 1.3.8 site and installed this mod, following the instructions.

No problem at all. Granted I haven't played with it yet, but the sidebox for the archives displays, and when clicked, the sample post appears as expected.

Site I did this on is offline at present.

The issue that is being reported with this mod and WordPress v2.7 is that the main blog page produces an error. The sideboxes and ALL the other blog links appear to work just fine.. However, the main blog page does not.. Does your main blog page work? (Main blog page = http://www.yourhost.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress) If so I'd be VERY curious to see this. Can you post a link? I've yet to see an example using this mod with v2.7 where the main blog page does not produce an error.

This mod is usable with v2.7 if you just chose NOT to use the main blog page.. All of the other blog links and the mod's sideboxes work just fine.. I'm just of the opinion though that this means that this mod isn't working fully as it is intended to work.. There are enough of us with this issue that would seem to indicate that the mod needs changes/updates to be FULLY compatible with WordPress v2.7..

I am going to give up on this mod until it works better (or works for 2.7).

So I will have WP seperate. If I do this, do I just put my Google Analytics code in the WP footer? Or do I need a whole separate analytics account?

OK, so here's a funny quirk... I had similar troubles getting WP in my ZEN cart. I have WP in a seperate directory than ZEN - like this

root/blog/ - here is my wp
root/store/ here is my zen

so i do the install and follow all the instructions and get an error

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/DOMAIN/html/store/includes/templates/template_default/common/html_header.php:22) in /home/content/DOMAIN/html/blog/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 850...

seems that if i do the url like this it works with out the error...
Domain.com/store/? -- yes, just a plain question mark after the url... totally weird.

but like this and I get an error:
domain.com/store/index.php?main_page=wordpress

food for thought.. i will mess with it, but if there are suggestions I will take them.

I've seen this question asked before but I can't seem to get pretty permalinks to work. When I change my blog address to "whateverblogname.com/blog" and use the following in .htaccess:

RewriteRule ^blog/ index\.php?main_page=wordpress&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

it works but I'm not able to access my admin anymore.

I just looking to get permlinks working for SEO, does anyone know how?

I too was messing around with this myself earlier today. I discovered that there are actually THREE alternate URLs that bring up the main blog page. Any one of these seems to work.

A friend discovered that third URL.. So I am grateful for his help.. (Thanks Phillip!)

So I am going to make a few adjustments to some of the WOZ, and WordPress files to hammer this the rest of the way in place. Then I will be able to present a REAL WORKING version of this mod with v2.7 where the main blog page REALLY works.

What a PITA this mod has been!

I too was messing around with this myself earlier today. I discovered that there are actually THREE alternate URLs that bring up the main blog page. Any one of these seems to work.

Also wanted to add this.. The friend who looked at this for me made a very valid point.. Though no one ever posted a real link proving that they got this to work straight on with WordPress v2.7. (By straight on I mean this mod working using the correct blog main page link without using the alternate links previously posted) he surmises that perhaps some folks probably had one of the SEO mods in place on their site. This might explain why they did not experience the issue with the http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress link throwing an error..
