At the risk of stating the obvious.. but do you have your sideboxes turned on??

I have this installed and working on my site.

Is there a way to include the sidebox modules into my template?

Right now I just have the header, top navigation, two blank columns (left, right), cart contents in the center and a footer.

Is there an embed code or can I still use zen carts sideboxes in my template?

I would like the sideboxes to appear in the blank left and right columns. Maybe I just don't have something right or something not correct in the admin settings.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I turned one right one on and one left and they didn't show up in the columns.

I think I may have gotten a bad upload. Some of the images looked weird, then I upped them again and it fixed it. So I'm wondering if that happened to some of the files. I'm going re-up everything right now. Hopefully that fixes the problem. If not, I'll be back :)

I would love to rewrite the documentation - I am incredibly busy right now (I work in a small start up tech company), but when I get some time, I will most certainly help you out.

Great template - once I downloaded/installed the older version, I was up and running within minutes!

Wow, I have been looking for a solution for this everywhere. Thank GOD I found this thread. I have a design for my site that i'm pretty satisfied with and didn't want to go through the hassle of customizing the web template.

This template doesn't eliminate all of the template customizing for Zen (you will still have to make some CSS mods to match up your store to the rest of the site), but it certainly simplifies the process..

Sorry, this question was asked a couple of times, but I just wanted to get to the bottom of it. Tameron and Stargre in recent posts both alluded to the fact that the left and right sidebars don't appear for them. That's the "problem" that I seem to have as well (if it is a problem). Were the sideboxes removed by design or have I made a mistake somewhere? I just see colored boxes on the right and left with nothing inside of the side boxes. The rest of the page looks fine. I know the side boxes are turned on because when I switch back and forth between the Sanguine and the Classic Contemporary Green, the side boxes show up in the Classic template but not the Sanguine template. (I have the sample data loaded from the Zen installation process.)

Thanks to all for sharing various tips and info. I think this is definitely a great "template" (I've read everything from beginning to end!) with lots of possible valuable uses. JOsh, I respect and appreciate your commitment to this, going back all the way to '06!

They're not removed by design at all.. On the site I created and used this template with the sideboxes are off by design (because that's the layout my client wanted).. Of course I am using the older version of this template, and based on the posts, the "problem" with the sideboxes seems to be isolated to the latest version of this template.. If I recall correctly, one of the folks reporting this sidebox issue was able to work fine by installing the older version of this template. (I'll have to read back through the posts a little bit)
