red flag Changed servers, can't modify certain things in admin?

Before I try to explain the situation, I have spent several days trying to find an answer to this problem, the closest I have come was asked back in April/08 with no response.

I have changed hosting companies and of course, servers.

After moving everything, changing the configuration files, and even ran the Cache Fix as well.

The only problems that I seem to be having is in the admin side of the site:
Under the Configuration tab, My Store, some items are editable, but others that I click on to change disappear (the right box next to the blue triangle physically goes away).
Even the modules, etc. can't be changed.

The Paypal IPN is not listed, but is working fine???
If I hit the edit button, that box with all the information in it disappears as well, so I can't make changes, if I wanted to.

I have tried several CHMOD changes to the admin folder with no success either.

I am at my whits end here, the site is working and accepting orders through Paypal, so, I am afraid to do too much more to the files, thinking I may crash it for good.

    Any ideas? Anyone?

    Site url is http://www.nlpoker.ca

If you transfer from one server to another all you need to do is copy the database tables to the new server, Upload all your site files to the new server. Then you need to edit 2 files:
    includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php
Make sure the permissions are set to write or 644.
That is all you need to do. Your server seems to be up-to-date.

No disrespect, but, I have done the changeover of servers less than 3 months ago with no problems.

But for some starnge reason, this changeover is causing me headaches.

I'm going to do another complete install, see what happens

Probably corrupted files caused by failures during FTP transfers.

I just did a full re-install, did the config changes, database install.
Everything is the same, no other problems than the ones reported above.

I also ran the fix_cache_key as well, with this result.
    Cache Settings Synchronization Tool
    Recommendations
Possible appropriate cache directory for your site is: /home/clients/nlpoker.ca/httpdocs/cache

    Actual Information
    Read DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE from configure.php: /home/clients/nlpoker.ca/httpdocs/cache
    Found SESSION_WRITE_DIRECTORY in database: /home/nlpoker/public_html/cache

    Now synchronizing...
Database now contains the following SESSION_WRITE_DIRECTORY: /home/clients/nlpoker.ca/httpdocs/cache

    Finished.

    Security
PLEASE DELETE THIS FILE FROM YOUR SERVER NOW!!
Removing this file (fix_cache_key.php) from your server protects you from would-be hackers/predators who might seek to compromise your server.

I don't beleive the files are corrupt?
I did a side by side check with the database files along with my files, everything looks fine?

    I'm totally lost!

You seem to focused on using words that say "can't modify certain things in admin". But it's not clear what the real symptoms are.

Are you saying that you're getting unexpected "blank" parts of the page? If so, then you probably have some PHP errors typically caused by FTP upload issues or by missing/damaged files.

I apologize for not being clearer with my explanation.

I have taken screenshots to show you what is happening, or in this case, what is not happening.

The first is the Store Name, which I CAN modify [scr]http://www.nlpoker.ca/images/canmodify1.jpg[/scr]

The second is the Store Owner, which I CAN modify[scr]http://www.nlpoker.ca/images/canmodify2.jpg[/scr]

This last screenshot shows the Display Prices with Tax category, notice the box to the left for editing etc. has disappeared, thereby, making it NOT modifiable!!![scr]http://www.nlpoker.ca/images/cannotmodify1.jpg[/scr]

This is what is happening throughout the admin section, certain things I am able to change, some I am not.
The one that is worrying me, is the Paypal IPN, when I click on that one, it doesn't list all the information, although I know it is working fine, if I click edit, it disappears like the others.
I hope this clarifies what is happening.
    Thank You

What do you mean by "it doesn't list all the information"?
Does it list "some" but not "all"? Or just skips the right-hand sidebox altogether?
