Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

best might be to uninstall and redo, but unsure now what files i actually need...

is the link you posted about 10 posts back the most updated file package that contains all the files needed?

Yes, it should contain everything. Now im also assuming you did read the instructions go with the package and followed.

Hi Yellow, thanks for your quick response.

I loaded the new files and no difference. Went through everything and all looks okay, I can see the functions.....

....config tools for model/ID, random sort and separator selection are missing.

....not able to submit multiple entries for xsells

yellow, went thru and deleted individually all files associated with the original cross sell mod, the new one you provided yesterday, and the module manager mod.

i DID NOT get into my phpmyadmin to delete anything.

when i re-installed the module manager, i get this:

Failed: 1
Error ERROR: Cannot create table module_version_tracker because it already exists
Warning Note: 1 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.
Error Failed to set up version tracker table

i then went to phpmyadmin and deleted the "module_version_tracker" but still get the error.

i do not want to tamper any further with my phpmyadmin without guidance.

can you advise a sql script or whatever i need to completely dump and retry module manager, so i can get on to the cross sell mod?

Oh, if you deleted that specific table, you will have to delete the .keep file which i believe is in admin/includes/module_installation

hmmm... no luck finding the .keep file.. searched multiple ways... only thing in that "module_installation" folder is the install.sql file...

is it possible that the .keep file is still in the database thru phpmyadmin, but not visible elsewhere? if so, how would i search phpmyadmin database for such a file?

next steps/suggestions?

Your ftp client might have hidden the .keep file :)

hah! afraid you might say that.. i have checked for the file additionally thru CPanel "file manager", (which does sometimes hide files), so then i went to CPanel "file manager legacy" which seems to show everything... and it wasnt there then either... ? how else can i locate this file, or remove the error?

Uhm, did you go to the module manager under tools? (Tho i dont think you have to). It should automatically installs itself (but hey, why is the .keep file not there to begin with? If it's not there you should have received another error when you still have the table tracker)

You may want to just me your temp admin and ftp account lol. It will save both our time.

Okie, now it makes more sense

TROUBLESHOOTING: After installing itself, this module writes a file named ".keep" in admin\includes\module_installation, if your server doesnt allow it to do so, it may make the module attempting to install itself everytime. The fix is easy though, just manually create a .keep file there (after the module has already installed itself, of course)
