Default Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]

    Hi,
How can I keep Simple SEO from redirecting css and image files? everything else is working fine
    Code:
    Hi everyone,
Im trying to optimize our webpage and while using firebug, it seems that a lot of pages are being unnecessarily 301 redirected (we have Simple SEO installed).

Here is the htaccess file; (I have put modrewrite off clauses in some folder but cant get all files)

    Code:
    php_value max_execution_time 3600

    #### BOF SSU
    Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
    RewriteEngine On
    # Make sure to change "zencart" to the subfolder you install ZC. If you use root folder, change to: RewriteBase /
    RewriteBase /

    # Deny access from .htaccess
    RewriteRule ^\.htaccess$ - [F]

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain\.com$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
    #### EOF SSU
How can i add a clause to stop redirecting images, css files, etc to avoid problems? Thanks in advance!

I dont see any reason ssu would redirect your css or image files at all, perhaps you may want to describe your problem in more details

while checking out a firebug report (debug addon for firefox), i can see that it is redirecting everything, not only php files which i think is slowing down the server

The htaccess content doesnt redirect images or urls if they really exists on the site. So you may want to check if those files are really there.

You also have not told me exactly how those links are redirected (from -- to ?) so Im not sure what exactly is causing the redirection

You've been very helpful in the past so I'm hoping that I can call on your help once more.

I'm trying to run version 1.7.3 of google base feeder with ssu 3.6.7

    My .htaccess is:
    Code:
    #### BOF SSU
    Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /store/

    # Deny access from .htaccess
    RewriteRule ^\.htaccess$ - [F]

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.splatcooking\.net [NC]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/store/$
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://store.splatcooking.net/$1 [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA]

    # STRIP THE REWRITEBASE RULE FROM NON-SSL CONNECTIONS.
    RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} store.splatcooking.net
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/store/
    RewriteRule ^(.*) /index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
    #### EOF SSU
When I try to use the Google Base Feeder product list generation by calling
    Code:
    https://store.splatcooking.net/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp
    I get redirected to
    Code:
    https://www.splatcooking.net/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp
    Any ideas?

For your store setting, if you want to use https, shouldnt you use the link
    https://www.splatcooking.net/store/g...?feed=fy_un_tp ?

For some reason, https://www.splatcooking.net/store/g...?feed=fy_un_tp doesn't generate the feed file I need, and there's no error shown in the log. I'm trying to eliminate SSU from the problem, hence the question about redirects.

You should use zencart debug tool, this is more than likely not caused by SSU

I used the debug tool as suggested. I'll post a description of the problem in case others come across it.

When googlefroogle.php is called it looks for if magic seo urls is set to 'true'. If they are (and would be if SSU is installed), then you'll see this kind of error
    Code:
    PHP Fatal error:  require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/classes/msu_ao.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/bin/pear')
The suggested fix from the support forum for Google Base Feeder is to purchase a plugin.
I tried to go for the cheap option by commenting out the test for magic seo urls in googlefroogle.php, but that leads to no links being generated for the products. I'll play around a bit more and re-post if I get a stable solution.
