I know how to use it. any documentation I provide is out of the goodness of my heart and in all reality the time it takes me to write it is food off my plate.

    hi guys,

i, too, am over my head, but am stupid enough to try this anyway. i am a record producer and i've got a new record label i'm designing a site & store for. we tried hiring people to do it, but when 2 different people said yes and then ran away with our money i had no choice but to do it myself.

so, i designed the site first in dreamweaver, then i installed zen cart into a subdirectory and spent weeks learning it and customizing it (based on the barebones template). i always intended to insert it into my site using iframe. not elegant, but heck, i'm not even a coder. it's a miracle i've gotten this far...

so, today i was all stoked to finally insert it into the html page and go live with the whole thing and announce it to the world when to my horror i discovered the problem with iframe and zen cart. stupid me!

after picking myself up off the floor, i found this thread. well, i just finished reading all 31 pages and my eyes are crossed and i'm ready to cry , but i'm still dumb enough to think i can do it. first i wanted to ask you guys a couple questions, especially JOsh and DivaVocals (i'm in LA, too!).

first, does using this mod (and template) mean i lose all those weeks of customizing i did to the barebones template? i feel like i've got a house of cards here and i'm deathly afraid of losing what took me so long to set up.

secondly, if you had a moment to check out what i've got so far, perhaps you'd be able to point out any other red flags i'm not even aware of at this point.

website: http://www.anomalyrecords.net/beta/artists.html (will be moved to root eventually)

    store: http://www.anomalyrecords.net/catalog

as you can see at store.html the cart is currently iframed in, but it is my understanding it won't work for all the explained reasons.

i'm so over this and so desperately need to get back to making records instead of code! (although there is a lot of similarity, iykwim.)

thanks in advance to you wise people.

To answer your first question.. Not at all.. You will simply use this template to "wrap" you site's look and feel (& possibly the existing navigation) around Zen Cart.. No nasty iframes, and it will be seemless.. I'll refrain from flogging you anymore on WHY this won't work.. sounds like you've had a bit of baptism by fire on that score.. cheer up.. it's a "learning fall" as my husband would say..

As for your second question.. I don't see anything obvious.. So it's just a matter of applying the template.. I also sent you a PM..

    Wanted to add this:

All this template does is as it's name implies, is to "embed" your Zen Cart so it looks like a seemless part of your exiting site.. Let me put it another way.. It is the equivilent (visually) of what your iframe did without the scrollbar, and the nasty little session errors.. Customers going from one part of your site to the other will not "know" they have crossed over into "Zen Cart" land..

Josh.. Dahhhhhhling... Now I thought you KNEW by now that I'm in love with your template, and wouldn't change a THING!!! Including the name.. My one and ONLY suggestion for this template you have already done.. Ubanix's instructions have been incorporated into the read me, and for me his instructions was the BIG lightbulb going off for me! So heck no.. the name is clear..

It's just that unlike other templates, it's hard to "see" how your template works since this template makes the integration of Zen within a site seemless.. I will have an example of what your template is REALLY meant to do posted soon.. (I mean let's face it -- my Joomla integration using your template was a HACK.. a fairly decent hack, but a hack nonetheless) With my client's permission, maybe what I will do is set up a "before" and "after" version so folks can see this template in action..

Does anybody know of any compatibility issues with Easy Embed and Fast Easy Checkout?

I have the latest FEC, set to Check Out Without Account, and I've just tried installing Easy Embed.

Everything seems fine, except when it starts to go through the checkout process. Shopping Cart displays fine, then when you hit proceed, FEC does its redirect to their no_account page for COWOA, but the Easy Embed template seems to cut off.

    For example, go here:

    http://www.dreamdog.com.au/store/ant...mate-shake.php

Click on 'Add To Shopping Cart' for this item.

Opes up in new window/tab with checkout and EE both showing correctly.

Then proceed through checkout and you'll see what I mean.

    Ideas?

You can test compatibility issues very quickly by switching to another template and see if you get the same behavior happening.. Switch to Classic and test..

Okay.. SO I am OFFICIALLY out of answers so I am turning to the community in hopes that someone can guide me to what it is I am missing..

First thing.. I am using ver 1.1 of the Sanguine template.. I CANNOT get ver 2.0 to work at all.. Ver 2.0 appears to strips out all of the HTML on my embed page, leaving only the Zen Cart code.. So I went back to Ver 1.1, which works just fine (once I made some tweaks to my embed page). So unless there is a reason I SHOULD be using ver 2.0, I'm gonna call this good.. However there is one remaining issue..

    Here's the links:
    Main site: http://clients.overthehillweb.com/an...rds/index.html
    Embed Page: http://clients.overthehillweb.com/an...rds/store.html
    Store: http://clients.overthehillweb.com/an...ecords/catalog

Here's the problem: If you go to the store, the header search form code is being STRIPPED out out of the header. The code is in the common/tpl_header.php file, but it does not show at all when the store is acessed.

When viewing the site using the Barebones template (the template this site started out using) everything is normal.. (header search form is visible) But if I apply the Sanguine template, you get the result you see (no header search form).. HELP!!! Is there code in this template that intentionally removes the header search form?? I have looked to see if it would be obvious.. but I am clearly missing something here..

So yeah yeah yeah.. I SHOULD have know the answer to this..

I'm sure a few folks reading this are having a GOOD chuckle.. Hell it's my own fault.. Call it wine enhanced sleep deprivation.. (I've been up since the CRACK of dawn doing laundry and all sorts of other household chores..) Which is how I FORGOT that I did not turn on the search header sidebox when I switched to the Sanguine template..

Okay.. I'm going to my corner now..

**does the walk of shame out of the thread***
