Uhm, are you referring to the previous post? Why not just create a new define page where you can list all your categories?

For example, you can create a new define page called "products" if you like, in this page you list all your categories

This is a more logical approach to the issue since you should avoid using invalid cpath.

So the only way I can accomplish this is by making a master category "products" and then throw everything in there..

This works great , but it makes my URLS unfriendly, since "products" doesn't really benefit my items in searches.

    www.website.com/products/laptops/small
    www.website.com/products/laptops/large
    www.website.com/products/desktops/tower
    www.website.com/products/desktops/mini

It will use valuable URL space to say products.. I suppose you could just have a category called "P" or something, but this seems kind of mickey-mouse... is there another way around this?

I know you can make a link to index.php?main_page=index&cPath=0
to display the categories... but it's giving me trouble in simple SEO, is there a simple way to do this that I'm overlooking?

Probably the best way to do this is to eliminate "/products/" in the url with .htaccess or maybe through a built-in feature of Simple SEO?

    Hi,

Got a strange problem which might be related to the ssu module or not, I am a little in the dark here.

When ssu is enabled, the categories menu collapses when opening a subcategory and the breadcrumb trail only shows the home and the current category.

For an example, please take a look at www.fietsonline.com

This site uses ssu version 15|Beta 3.6.6 but got the same effect with version 16|Beta 3.7.1
The shop uses zen-cart version 1.38a. If someone can please point me in the right direction, I would be most gracefull.

I have never encountered this, but it may happen if whatever module tries to get the $_GET params BEFORE SSU kicks in. Turn off the module, see if it changes anything, turn it off via admin-configuration-ssu settings

Either you have not overwrite/edit htaccess file (again, go back to the document I just put above ), or your host may not support mod_rewrite. If the second is true, true bad, but turn off ssu now, and contact your host for help.

    Hi Yellow..

Yes i have mod-rewrite, i can get MODx SEO to work but thats all built in (for idiots like me)

I'll have another bash... my htaccess is identical to the one in the docs.
maybe a beer will focus my mind!

I'll give it a few more days then i think will have to pay you as I'm clearly crap:)

(you have to admit tho.. i bet im the first to not have it turned on and ask why its not working,, hahaha)

Idea or Suggestion Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]

if your cart is in your root, make sure your .htaccess

    rewritebase is like this..

    #### BOF SSU
    Options +FollowSymLinks -MultiViews
    RewriteEngine On
    # Make sure to change "zencart" to the subfolder you install ZC. # If you use root folder, change to: RewriteBase /
    RewriteBase /

    # Deny access from .htaccess
    RewriteRule ^\.htaccess$ - [F]

    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php?/$1 [E=VAR1:$1,QSA,L]
    #### EOF SSU
