just the top level ones, basically what I would get it if I was going to the url of:

index.php?main_page=index&cPath=0

I tried to figure it out on my own, but these categories , functions and classes are above my basic php knowledge.

I have the new page added, all I need is the php to insert. :)

actually, you know what might be easier, if you comment or add code to skip the forwarding of index.php?main_page=index&cPath=0 to the index page.

I don't really understand it the code that causes this, but for you it might be very easy since you put it all together, thanks for the help

Hi Yellow...

you'll be please to know that i have got your mod working, i had to add a bit more to the htaccess file in accordance with my hosts rules...

but i am at the same stage that tone2 had...

urls read like mysite/hardware-c-1

I will follow the instructions you gave tone2 and let you know how i get on.. and pester you for more help when i get stuck :-D
