Restrict shipping to US Only

I am at a lost after weeks ;-(
How do I turn off shipping to all other countries or turn on to Only one country????

Which shipping module are you using? Have a look in Admin >> Modules >> Shipping and depending on which one you are using you set it there.

after doing so that is why I am at a lost, do I have to delete all 239 countries??????????
or is there a master control that can be turned on or off?

No they can stay unless you want to stop people registering from those countries.

You haven't told me which shipping module you are using so I can't give you an exact answer. You either set the zones in the mod as in the zones mod for example. With zones you enter the country code.

With others you need to create a zone Admin >> Locations / Taxes >> Zone Definitions. Once set these will then appear as a choice in your shipping mod.

I would do a search as I'm sure there must be in depth threads covering this offering much better advice than I can give as I am no expert.

Currently trying Per Unit/perweightunit for shipping once I have it figured out I wnat to add UPS also.
I only have about a dozen items that are shipped.

As suggested, you can do this with Zones ...

Build a Zone for who you will ship to ...

Add that Zone to your shipping module and only those customers, shipping to that Zone Definition, will be able to check out ...

The advantage of this over deleting countries that you do not ship to is that it allows Grandma, who lives in the US, to send little Tiny Tim a new crutch at Christmas, even though he lives in the UK ...

THANK I BELIEVE I HAVE IT NOW (crossing fingers)

I may delete the other countries at a later date to minumize the database since no grandmothers will be sending my products anywhere. Since the site is more for Services than products.

Mostly credit card services right now, so its limited to american banks.
