No I do not see the downloadable file in their order.

Then they didn't select it from the available attributes before they clicked Add To Cart. Thus it won't be offered for download.

I also made an attribute of not a check box, but text only... I thought for simplicity sake if they dont need to check anything, then it would automatically provide it.

No, text-only is exactly that: text-only. It's for displaying messages, not for choosing options.

If you want something auto-selected, make it the ONLY attribute, make it a checkbox or radio-button, and tick the "default" option so that it's automatically got the checkbox checked.

okay, I think the problem is solved. I fixed what you suggested and made sure I checked that check box when buying, and the download was provided after.
