Hello,

Here is what i would like to do instead of a product i want to capture people's personal information. And have a database that someone can pay to search for that person and charge for the information that is there...what would this involve?

It would probably involve checking to see that what you intend to do complies with data pivacy laws.

As you don't provide much detail about what you are intending to do, I am assuming that your project may flout some laws.

i dont think what im try to do would be breaking any type of law as all i want to put into a database is basic credit information. if you do a search on credit application that i what i would like to do. would this be hard to do with zen cart or there another open source application out there that will do this? thanks for the help.

There are already Places that do this,
The are called Credit Bureaus...

no there is nothing like this out there this information will be very specific information for the customer.

I don't know what country you are in but in most of Europe and the North Americas, we have companies that already provide such data on creditworthiness. (experian, equifax).

These are BIG companies and their systems cost millions of dollars to set up and to maintain.

Additionally, in most developed societies, the capture and retention of people's personal information is strictly regulated, so if you are in a country that abides by such laws and principles, you will find it costly and difficult to set up such a service.

Thirdly (and finally) zencart is not suitable for this purpose.

To do anything worthwhile, you are probably looking at a very complex custom setup. I doubt there is any such thing floating out there for the taking.
