Printable Price list :: support thread

...It's always funny when you search through a thread and finds lots of the same question, and can never find an answer!

I've got pricelist running on a moderate sized cart (1500+ products), using it to generate a PDF catalogue for my client.

On one large category I no longer can get the file to generate, no doubt due to server timeouts (it's part of a VMS hosting, so I don't have access to server logs alas.)

So, question (as asked before), can I change my pricelist main page to not only select by main category (ie., "Accessories") but by subcategory ("ie., "Accessories/AAA", "Accessories/BBB") to generate unique pages for each of these subs individually?

No, such a feature is not available at the moment. (It's probably asked and answered before in the archived support thread.)

Searched through there as well.. Saw -lots- of asked, but no "answered". :)

My workaround for the client is a bit wonky - I actually had him turn off all the products save a single subcategory... He was then able to one-at-a-time generate a sub-category document isolated from the others, and didn't have the same timeout problems encountered when trying to do the whole shebang.

A silly hack, but one that worked. :)

So, if anybody has any brilliant ideas on a VMS on how to adjust timeout settings, or another way of doing ZenCart to HTML catalogue, I'd still love to hear about it...

because I was sure it had been asked and answered before I decided to search the forum (I must say that I have black belt web search ). And just before I was about to give up, because I thought it was pointless anyway, I found an answer AND the solution! So my previous answer to your question was wrong.

Yes, it's a built in feature!

In Admin :: Configuration :: Price-list Profile-x (where x is the profile number) change:

Category tree main cats only true

To:

Category tree main cats only false

(question post 250 of this thread, I answered that code changes were needed, feature added and announced a couple of posts after that)
