Hi!
I have tried to install zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-files-12112007 on my website running php v 5.3 This was no sukse.

The shop was a blank page while admin folder contained many errors until the Skomer the following errors:

Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /customers/modart.no/modart.no/httpd.www/catalog/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 177



Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /customers/modart.no/modart.no/httpd.www/catalog/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 412

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_diff() in /customers/modart.no/modart.no/httpd.www/catalog/admin/includes/functions/general.php on line 3001

Zen Cart does not work properly with PHP 5.3, until you install the patch for this. See PHP 5.3 Support.



Important moderator note:
UPDATE: IF YOU ARE READING THIS, THEN YOU NEED TO UPGRADE TO A NEWER VERSION OF ZEN CART!!!!!!!

Merely applying the patch is ONLY a temporary bandage, and does not properly secure your site.
And will not protect you for PHP 5.4 if you wait that long.
So UPGRADE NOW!

Thank you for your help so far!
Have install the update and then admin works properly, but the store is still a blank page.

If anyone has any suggestion to know what to do, I am more than grateful for the help.

If you are still getting those messages after applying the PHP 5.3 patch, then you didn't apply all the files in the patch to the correct locations.

If that's from your includes/application_top.php file, it could be your problem. That comes from the file that should be in your zc_install/includes folder.
