help question Payflow? Should I stay should I go?

    Hi guys

Looking to get some input as to I should install it in my payment modules or should I pass ?
    Is it widely used?
How do I go about it ? Through Paypal or direct ?

When you are looking to accept credit cards, you need to evaluate based on your business. Look at the fees associated with the merchant account, how quickly your money is available, the ease of integrating the solution, etc.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

To add to Kim's advice, I'll clarify a piece of information you didn't mention:

PayPal offers several kinds of services:
    a) pay via PayPal -- where customers visit the PayPal site and supply their credit card/payment information there before returning to your site to complete the sale.
Customers have the option of paying with their credit card, or if they also have a PayPal account, then they can optionally use their PayPal funds to make payment as well.
PayPal Express Checkout or their older less-sophisticated Website Payments Standard services offer this funcitonality.

    b) as direct card-entry within your website -- where your site collects their payment card details and processes the credit card in the background thru paypal while the customer waits for mere seconds. The customer NEVER knows that PayPal was involved in the transaction. You must have your own SSL certificate on your site for this.
Payflow Pro and PayPal Website Payments Pro both offer this service. PayPal's website can give more details on the pricing.

Payflow is Paypal's gateway solution (formerly verisign) which allows you to use their gateway along with your merchant bank. Payflow Pro is basically the same as website payments pro where they provide both the gateway and merchant bank services. I use Payflow Pro and I would recommend staying with website payments pro if you already have it. Support for the payflow pro payment module is not nearly as good as website payments pro which is bundled into the base zen cart. Just my 2 cents
