MultiSite Module Support Thread

hi.. i have two sites www.site1.com and www.site2.com... i have installed zen cart at site1.com and installed the multisite module too... i can see the link for site2.com on the main site(www.site1.com), but when i click on it, it gives me nothing but the directory structure of site2.com. Plase tell me where i am going wrong.

And what is the directory structure of your site2 ?

You should make your site2 point to your site1 (not a redirect) so basically your site2 doesn't even have any directory structure... Your site2 is actually just a domain, nothing else. All files are located in site1.

My apologies. I am not using the Hide Categories with the Multi-Site module. Originally I was trying to use it, but I believe I left it out because I was able to the use the Multi-Site module to do what was required.

With this mod you are able to define certain categories with certain sites. If you want one category to only display on one site then you only associate it with that site through the Admin > Tools > Multi-Site Tools > Display the relations Categories/Sites. By default I would assume that if you do not associate a category with any site then that category and the products within that category will not display.

Thank you. Each of the sites will have custom products within a hidden category to which only select customers will be provided with link access. I believe the problem I'm encountering lies within the modules/sideboxes/classic files. None of the sites are displaying sideboxes. The error message I am receiving is

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LIMIT 1' at line 4

The variable for the categories id for the Hide Categories module appears to be missing from the categories sidebox. It may have something to do with the cat_filter function of Multisite?

I gave up on Hide Categories module, reinstalled zen cart (now using 1.3.9d), installed Multisites, and duplicated the custom template folders. Then enabled each template through admin and assigned sideboxes in layout. One subdomain functions perfectly after login, the second keeps redirecting/looping back to the login page (no error messages). I ran a comparison of the custom folders (languages, modules, templates) through Winmerge and it stated they were identical. I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion as to why one domain won't allow login? Thanks!

Update...during the course of multiple login attempts on the second subdomain, occasionally I received "There was a security error when trying to login." Found this link https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=312 but it did not apply as I have 1.3.9d installed.

However, when I attempted to login to the second subdomain using a different browser I was successful.

I have 2 sites working together with multisite, but they does not share product images. Is there any good solutions to that problem. This has to be an automatic solution which update every time a new picture is uploaded!
Any good ones?

If you installed this module correctly, then you should have product images on both/all sites where you assigned a category to show. So, if your cat1 is set to show on bith site1 and site2, all products, images, attributes etc that have something to do with cat1 will show.
Perhaps you've missed something in the installation. Recheck your multisite module installation, it's gotta be something wrong...

Do you use the same payment accounts for both sites, e.g. the same Paypal account, same Authorize.net account, etc.? Or do you need to set up separate accounts for each site?

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with FEC...

I have no idea on how authorize.net works, but with PayPal you can use separate accounts per site or a single account on all sites, it's up to you. You can use define flags to set up individual parameters for each site or configure the modules from admin and have all sites use the same variables.

About SSL - can't help you, sorry...
