"ZenCart Zen" Template Support

I have this template installed on my test site. I would like to move or delete the date up at the top. I don't see any reference to it in the header.php file that I've been playing with. Where can I change that bit of information? TIA! :)

You have 2 choices:

1) open includes/templates/zencart_zen/css/stylesheet.css

find the following and add the highlighted portion:

.date {
display:none;
padding-left:5px;
position: absolute;
top: 5px;
right: 20px;
color:#000;
font-weight: bold;
text-align: left;
font-size: 1.2em;
line-height:normal;
text-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #DFDFDF;
filter: Shadow(Color:#DFDFDF, Direction:135, Strength:2);
}

2) open includes/templates/zencart_zen/common/tpl_header.php

find and delete the following line of code.
<div class="date"><?php echo strftime(DATE_FORMAT_LONG);?></div>

open includes/languages/zencart_zen/english.php

find the following line of code:

  @setlocale(LC_TIME, 'en_US.utf8');

and replace it with:

  @setlocale(LC_TIME, 'en_US.ISO_8859-1');

find the following line of code:

  define('CHARSET', 'utf-8');

and replace it with:

  define('CHARSET', 'iso-8859-1');

By default the Zencart Zen template does not contain a slideshow.

That is something you will have to add on your own.

Concerning my comments above, I am doing a new 1.3.9d site and used the new install version of the updated Zencart_Zen template as well as trying to upgrade my first site, which brought on the problems I discussed above, not remedied yet but I will get to that.

My present glitch: on the Contact Us" page it shows "star.gif" three times and = Required information without the asterisk.

In the Cold Steel thread at entry #479 I found the fix::

to correct this issue open includes/languages/cold_steel/english.php

find the following lines of code and make the indicated changes.

define('FORM_REQUIRED_INFORMATION', '* Required information');
define('ENTRY_REQUIRED_SYMBOL', '*');

I changed the english.php file accordingly and the asterisks show correctly now. Thanks.
