my buddy found the issue the file was missing one little symbol in the merging of the files

Glad to hear you found your mistake.

I'd suggest using software like ActiveState's Komodo editor.. (or any other programming software which has PHP syntax checking in it).. that would have highlighted the problem for you straight away!

Probably! :) It's one of the "golden three" programs that I can't live without.. Directory Opus, Beyond Compare and Komodo. If only the first two were available on other platforms I wouldn't be tied into windoze.. Komodo uses Mozilla's engine so is multiplatform, although that probably is also the reason it's a little slow if lots of files are open (I rarely have less than 15 open, I'd call lots about 20+).

lol glad I could help! I'm the same, WinMerge works, but Beyond Compare is in another league.. simple little things like its support for "ignoring version tags" when doing comparisons make it so much more efficient to use.

Anyway.. enjoy playing with Komodo! :) I'd recommend downloading and installing the version 6 beta - http://www.activestate.com/komodo-ide/downloads

Also, download and install the free MoreKomodo extension for it.. it adds features I think should be part of the main software (Rename, Delete options on the file tabs etc.).. you can get that from http://dafizilla.sourceforge.net/morekomodo/

I'd like to toss one out for "other" platforms (Mac!) that I love. Wish I could give credit where it is due, but somebody in the Zen-Cart forums recommended TextWrangler... I absolutely LOVE it and have no idea how I ever got by without it!

Always good to have alternatives! I see that TextWrangler is from the same company who write BBEdit.

I have to point out though that Komodo is available for Mac too, just in case you thought it was for windoze only, so you can give it a try as well if you like and see how it compares to your current favourite.

Regardless, "no idea how I ever got by without it" means that TextWrangler must be doing something well so I'd imagine either editor would be good to you! :)

Well, sorry for dumb question but it is first time I am trying to make online shop working and I do not know much about all these "rewrite" stuff.
So:
- I have read installation and FAQ
- my shop is in roots and admin is renamed
- there is index.php file in the roots - I belive this is ZC installation index.php file? - there is already .htaccess file (301 redirect) - should I add rewrite rule to this file?

Any help aprecciated!

Yes, put the rule in there and make sure you adjust it for the admin folder's name as in the installation instructions.
