I sell a range of stamps (about 6000) for card making, they are availble as wood mounted or unmounted. I have set them up with the dimensions of the woodmounted (as they are larger). When a customer selects an unmounted stamp, I am only able to change the weights, and not dimensions under the attribute controller. I believe the dimensions are part of the OZPOST addon.

I would love to be able to change the dimension attributes, as there is about 3cm difference in height, it does throw the postage right out when mulitple stamps are ordered. I have no idea how much work is involved in this so if you could let me know if it is possible without too much work, I would be willing to compensate for this, as long as I can justify the cost.

Please let me know if I hae not made this clear enough.

    Cheers

    Rick

I have an install question - pretty basic I guess. While trying to install it, I get a message like this:

    Network Connectivity test FAILED
Is cURL installed on your server? (it needs to be). If so, this may be a temporary glitch, try again in a few minutes.
    Installation will NOT continue.

I did use the curltester and have checked with my host who says cURL is working on the server.

    What is my next step?

well, problem for me was solved. tho I kept getting the message about connectivity and cURL like the last poster, the tech support on the server said the version 05 was working. I used it instead of 6 or 8 and still had to comment out the testing lines but it finally installed with no errors showing.

So thanks a lot for your non-help.

Having some problems with the OZ Post Vs 2.0.6 I am using Zen Cart 1.3.8a.

I have been scratching my head on this problem for a while now looks like an intermittent problem with the shipping estimator which randomly returns "Fixed Cost which are only shown when no other methods are available"

Is it possible the supply of data is having issues. It seems to work fine when it's going, and returning the correct rates. I also noticed that sometimes you need to log in for it to work..

Very weird any assistance would be appreciated.

    Best Regards

This could be caused by almost anything, overloaded server (your or ours), network congestion, network dropouts, etc, etc.

Let me guess, when it doesn't work it returns the fixed costs? How are you sure that this isn't caused by the same intermittent problem?

I don't think there is much I/we can do for you really ... the log files don't indicate any server issues, we haven't had any other reports to indicate that it is a server issue, the code hasn't changed any, so it is currently looking like it may be an intermittent problem with your server, or worse, one of the routers inbetween your server and ours.

This kind of issue needs to be fault found from your end of things.

Hi RodG, thanks for your fast response I am not an expert in these matters and as such have not idea were to look at my end of things.

I will pass your responses on to my server support guy who I have dealt with for years and see what he says..Can you point me in the right direction. Pls.

Also I see from the past that we used to use this server drc.edeliver.com.au and now use this one for information ozpost.vcsweb.com are these inter-changeable in case of outage or intermittent issues.

    Thanks

    Best Regards

    Correct.

Yes, this could be done, but the 'without too much work' part is always an issue. .. 'Work' is a relative thing :-)

I wouldn't consider adding this to the ozpost module, primarily because it isn't a postage function and would require significant modification to the core code.
However, if the core code ever gets updated to include dimensional data for attributes there wouldn't be any reason for me to not update ozpost to take advantage of it.

As far as a solution to your problem goes, perhaps consider having two sections, one for mounted stamps another for unmounted?
I can appreciate that this will require a fair amount of work to replicate all the stamps so the mounted/umounted can have different dimensions so this may not be viable or practical (especialy if you don't know SQL). It IS a possible solution though.

    Cheers
    Rod
